Mitch McConnell Now Back On 'Repeal Obamacare' Track

I'm pretty sure Mitch McConnell's KochMasters did not like his comments to Neil Cavuto earlier this week where he said there's no way they can actually repeal the Affordable Care Act, so he was very careful to specify his plans for what he will do after he's re-elected.

That is, unless Alison Lundergan Grimes robs him of that opportunity, which would be delicious.

TPM:

"Leader McConnell is and has always been committed to the full repeal of Obamacare, and he'll continue to lead efforts to repeal and replace it with patient-centered reforms that enable greater choice at lower costs. He knows it won't be easy, but he also believes that if Republicans are fortunate enough to take back the majority we'll owe it to the American people to try through votes on full repeal, the bill’s most onerous provisions, and reconciliation,” McConnell spokesman Brian McGuire told the paper.

According to the article, premium subsidies could be on the line through the reconciliation process, which would effectively gut the entire act for millions of people currently covered because they're eligible for help paying.

It was only after the Senate Conservatives Fund sent up a wail at McConnell's admission about not repealing the ACA that they got more specific. His billionaires want it repealed, so he'd better hop to!

Speaking of rich people and McConnell, go read Lee Fang's article about his wife's family's shipping company and how McConnell's fortune has swelled as a result of their offshore business deals.
