Another winger talking point has died with Khatallah's claim that the video sparked the attack on the Benghazi diplomatic mission.
Benghazi Suspect Says Yes, It Was The Video
June 17, 2014

About that right wing talking point that says the video had nothing to do with the Benghazi attacks? Yeah, it's likely to be deader than a doornail now.

TPM:

Ahmed Abu Khatallah, the suspect captured by U.S. special forces on Tuesday for his role in the 2012 Benghazi attack, reportedly said he was motivated in part by the anti-Islam online video made in America, according to the New York Times.

"What he did in the period just before the attack has remained unclear. But Mr. Abu Khattala told other Libyans in private conversations during the night of the attack that he was moved to attack the diplomatic mission to take revenge for an insult to Islam in an American-made online video," Times reporter David Kirkpatrick wrote in a story on Khattala on Tuesday.

Immediately following the attack, Khattala declined to say whether the video had anything to do with his role in the Benghazi attack, according to the Times.

That prompted this tweet to Fox News, Jon Karl, and Senator John McCain from Tommy Christopher:

Indeed. Not that I ever expect any of them to utter those words, you understand. Just that he should.

Update: Remember when the New York Times did that exhaustive breakdown of the Benghazi tragedy a few months back and also said it was the video? Right away Senators McCain and Graham led the charge against it, claiming it was just hack journalism. Yet here we are with the confirmation right out of the mouth of the suspect.

Wait for them to claim this confirmation is proof positive that Obama just conveniently timed his capture. Three...two...one.
