While others in the media are finally acknowledging that the Benghazi "scandal" which Fox has been pushing for months on end is nothing but a witch hunt and that ABC's big "scoop" on White House emails just left egg on their face and was nothing but lies being fed to them by Republicans, what are they doing over at Fox?

You guessed it... still scandal-mongering over Benghazi. And of course there was no acknowledgement by anyone on the panel of Fox News Watch this Saturday that the Republicans were caught feeding lies to ABC News. In Fox-land, the talking points by Susan Rice are still supposedly a scandal. They're carping that the White House doesn't treat the press nicely enough to suit them and that they don't know how to handle their messaging properly -- because we all know if they were better at messaging and nicer to the press, Fox would then give them a fair shake, right? They haven't managed to make this fake scandal of theirs stick, but they're still grasping at straws to be outraged about.

I thought that maybe they would just move on, since they've got themselves a couple of new drummed up "scandals" to chase after as well, but apparently they're not ready to let this witch hunt go any time soon.

Another Saturday, another segment on Fox News Watch where they're supposed "media watchdog" show proves they can be just as terrible at any "fair and balanced" reporting as Howard Kurtz's similar joke of a show on CNN. This week, they were discussing Mitt Romney's appearance at the NAACP, where he was booed during his speech. And of course they all tried to pretend there was no race baiting involved.

But they conveniently left out a couple of items during this segment. One, is what Mitt Romney said during a fundraiser which I wrote about here: Romney on NAACP Booing: If They Want More Free Stuff, Tell Them to Go Vote for the Other Guy.

They also failed to mention that Romney bussed in his own cheering section when they were discussing how Romney was treated by the crowd there, although I do agree with Judith Miller and the applause at the end was probably out of respect for the fact that Romney bothered to show up there at all. Ultimately they all ended up admitting who showing up there was actually going to help him with and that's his base, who think it's a good thing that he drew the boos from the crowd there.

Included in the panel this week was Richard Grenell, who the Romney campaign ousted after right wingers started going crazy because he's openly gay. Color me not shocked that there was no mention of that at any time during the show as well.

If anyone needed any more proof that the American Family Association's Bryan Fischer is more than just a little bit nuts and that he really hates Mitt Romney, you need look no further than his latest attack on the Republicans' presumptive presidential candidate, where he blasted Romney for taking his advice and ousting his openly gay spokesman, Richard Grenell.

Here's some background for anyone who hasn't been following this story. First we had Fischer going after Romney for hiring Grenell because he's openly gay: Bryan Fischer Launches Full-Scale Attack on Romney Campaign's Gay Spokesman:

As we noted earlier today, Bryan Fischer is positively livid that Mitt Romney's campaign hired Richard Grenell to serve as its foreign policy and national security spokesman because Grenell is openly gay.

So it was no surprise that Fischer dedicated a segment to discussing the issue today on his radio program, where he began by asserting that most gay men have hundreds, if not thousands, of "random, frequent, and anonymous sexual encounters and that becomes a significant issue when we're talking about appointing somebody to a post as sensitive as a spokesman for national security and foreign policy":

Later Fischer brought up the fact that the LDS Church opposes homosexuality and demanded to know whether Romney agreed with that position and, if so, explain why he would appoint an openly gay man to serve on his campaign. If Romney said he didn't agree with that position, then Fischer said there would be no reason for social conservatives to vote for him:

Then on May 1st, Fischer gets his head on a plate and Grenell resigns: Romney’s Openly-Gay Spokesperson Resigns After Facing Pressure From Anti-Gay Right Wing:

Well, if anyone wanted to know what the spin from the right is going to be on the recent events in Libya now that it looks like Tripoli may be falling to the rebels, and that Gadhafi's son has been arrested, here's some of the initial reporting from Fox "News."

Fox's Gregg Jarrett brought on former Bush UN Spokesman Richard Grenell for some "fair and balanced" discussion on whether President Obama will be given any credit if Gadhafi goes down. Naturally he said no, because those on the right are never going to give the president credit for anything. Instead Grenell said this would be a huge victory for France and for French President Nicholas Sarkozy.

I wasn't happy about our decision to go in there in the first place because of how many things could go wrong and I didn't want to see us end up occupying another country when we're going after the social safety nets for Americans because of the claims that we're supposedly broke (which we aren't), but said at the time if things worked out well, I'd be more than happy to be proven wrong. I don't think we'll have an answer to that for some time to come since no one knows how this is ultimately going to turn out for the Libyan people even if they do get rid of Gadhafi.

In Fox World however, everything is always bad for President Obama and the Democrats no matter what happens though. That's just the way they roll. If this were the Bush administration and it looked like we might finally be rid of Gadhafi, they'd be cheering him on like they did during the invasion of Iraq and there's not a chance in hell they'd be giving the French credit for anything.

It's so nice to see them getting some "unbiased" opinion on the matter from someone who worked for George W. Bush when we invaded Afghanistan and Iraq on our current foreign policy.
