Thankfully, it does look like we got some union solidarity from the National Football League Players Association when it comes to Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels and his union busting with the recent passage another god awful right to work for less law in the state that is going to be hosting the Super Bowl this year.

The bad news is how difficult the struggle will be to overturn this union busting with the strength of unions being diminished with every law like this that passes, along with the flood of money pouring into our elections from the Citizens United debacle and the unfettered corporate influence and the ability of the richest among us to buy our elections.

Add that to voter disenfranchisement, on a scale we haven't seen in decades, electronic voting machines we should not be trusting to vote on and and compliant media that cares more about the horse races and conflict than telling anyone the truth, and we've got a long, long way to go to clean up the mess we're in right now and being able to put a stop to what just happened in Indiana and with the union busting across the country, whether our votes will be counted, and whether those who are voting are informed, and not just propagandized by right-wing media and misinformation which has filled our airways.

CNN correspondent Ted Rollins reporting from Madison, WI. Even though the deadline to clear the capitol has passed, law enforcement's strategy is going to be to ask the protesters to leave voluntarily. Capitol Police Chief Charles Tubbs told CNN "People are going to have to try real hard to get arrested. We don't want anybody arrested and we're willing to spend the night here and try to convince people to leave, let us clean it, this capitol building and then come back tomorrow."

The Professional Firefighters of Wisconsin's Mahlon Mitchell explained why he and his fellow union members were standing in solidarity with the other protesters and remain in the capitol rotunda even though the deadline had passed.

From inside the Wisconsin State Capitol, RAN ally Ryan Harvey reports:

“Hundreds of cops have just marched into the Wisconsin state capitol building to protest the anti-Union bill, to massive applause. They now join up to 600 people who are inside.”

Ryan reported on his Facebook page earlier today:

“Police have just announced to the crowds inside the occupied State Capitol of Wisconsin: ‘We have been ordered by the legislature to kick you all out at 4:00 today. But we know what’s right from wrong. We will not be kicking anyone out, in fact, we will be sleeping here with you!’ Unreal.”

UPDATE from John Amato: Looks like Scott Walker was booed out of a restaurant tonight. Digby says it may not be 100%.

The M******t [a restaurant] in Madison, WI confirms that on Friday night, ******* (one of the owners) politely asked Scott Walker to leave the establishment when other customers began booing him. A bartender at The M*****t said that ‘his presence was causing a disturbance to the other customers and management asked him to leave.’

Maybe he should have stayed home and ordered pizza instead? Okay, maybe not; there might be a long wait.

UPDATE, 8:47 p.m.: Madison police chief troubled by Walker's comments on protesters:

Madison Police Chief Noble Wray said Thursday that he found comments by Gov. Scott Walker made about protesters at the state Capitol during a prank phone call “very unsettling and troubling." [...] “I would like to hear more of an explanation from Governor Walker as to what exactly was being considered, and to what degree it was discussed by his cabinet members. I find it very unsettling and troubling that anyone would consider creating safety risks for our citizens and law enforcement officers,” the chief said. [...]
