December 07, 2009 CNN: Levi Johnston really spills the beans on the Palin family in his interview with Joy Behar. "There was a lot of talk about divorce in the Palin home," Johnston said. "I've never even seen them sleep in the same room."

Dave N.: But I thought gay couples were the biggest threat to the institution of marriage!

Palin, in October 2008:

Palin: I am, in my own, state, I have voted along with the vast majority of Alaskans who had the opportunity to vote to amend our Constitution defining marriage as between one man and one woman. I wish on a federal level that that’s where we would go because I don’t support gay marriage. I’m not going to be out there judging individuals, sitting in a seat of judgment telling what they can and can’t do, should and should not do, but I certainly can express my own opinion here and take actions that I believe would be best for traditional marriage and that’s casting my votes and speaking up for traditional marriage that, that instrument that it’s the foundation of our society is that strong family and that’s based on that traditional definition of marriage, so I do support that.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

REP. ALAN GRAYSON: What the Republicans have been doing is an insult to America. They`ve been dragging their feet. These are foot-dragging, knuckle-dragging Neanderthal who thinks they can dictate policy to America by being stubborn.

(END OF VIDE CLIP)

BEHAR: You`re the greatest, "knuckle - dragging Neanderthal" apparently voters in New Jersey and Virginia didn`t agree. The governors- elect in both states both Republicans. I`m joined by the man that threw those bombs, Florida Congressman Alan Grayson, congressman. Thank you for joining me. I really do enjoy you, I must tell you.

GRAYSON: Same here. I enjoy you, too.

BEHAR: But you know the governor`s races were won in Republicans in Virginia and New Jersey. And Obama stump for both of them, what`s this say about Obama`s influence these days? Is it waning or is it OK, what do you think?

GRAYSON: Well look, there`s lesson for both parties. For the Democratic Party we have to activate our vote. The Republicans activate their vote. The Democrats this year have not done as good a job as the Republicans in that regard. The voter turnout in Virginia was down by half since last year. Now, I don`t think half of all voters in Virginia disappeared. What happen was some of them felt motivated to vote. And too many of people on our side didn`t feel motivated to vote. And that`s why there was a sharp drop in Democratic performance in both states. So we have to motivate our base.

BEHAR: It was interesting the exit polls in Virginia and New Jersey, all -- both of them said they still like President Obama. That their vote had nothing to do with him. Do you agree with that?

GRAYSON: Well look, people elected Obama, they elected me, they elected the Democrats and put us in charge of the government because they want change. And they need to see more of it. We need to deliver. We need to make sure that the people who voted for us with expectations in mind have those expectations satisfied. It`s that simple. There are lessons for Republicans too. You didn`t talk about the election in New York.

BEHAR: I`m about to ask you about that one because that was one for the team.

GRAYSON: Well listen, I think we`re witnessing the disintegration of a major political party. Something that happens only about once a century. The last time that two of those counties that New York congressional district were represented by Democrats was in 1850. 1850. So I think what we`re seeing is that the tea baggers are no longer obeying the corporate pay masters.

BEHAR: It`s interesting because both Limbaugh and Palin both backed the Republican up there. And it didn`t work. I love that. Does it mean the attack machine -- what is it about the right wing attack machine. That they`re full of bluster and they`re out there all the time voicing their hatred, a lot of it. And it still doesn`t translate into votes, by and large.

GRAYSON: They`re down to 20% of Americans identify themselves as Republicans now. And even at 20% split -- they`re split and splintered and falling apart.

BEHAR: What does it about independent voters, this whole thing, do you think?

GRAYSON: Well the independent voters have a lot of say. They`re the balance of power between the two parties. But I think at this point we`re down to 1 1/2 parties. Because the Republicans just can`t seem to get it together. They have nothing to offer ordinary people. You know you ask what people want for health care, for education, for jobs, the Republicans have no answers for any of that. They`re the party of no, and no don`t cut it anymore.

BEHAR: OK and thank you very much for joining us I hope that you`re going to keep speaking out and saying those wonderful things that you say. We like them.

GRAYSON: Thank you, Joy.

BEHAR: OK, thank you very much Congressman, I want to turn to Randi Rhodes, nationally syndicated radio talk show host. Hi, Randi.

RANDI RHODES, RADIO TALK SHOW HOST: Hi Joy. Congratulations.

BEHAR: So, thank you. Let`s start with these races. What did you make of all of it?

RHODES: Well one of them was a real change election. And the other one I thought -

BEHAR: Which one?

RHODES: Well I thought New Jersey, you know Goldman Sacs Corzine I think they had it with the whole Wall Street bailout. The whole -

BEHAR: Right.

RHODES: And you know --

BEHAR: You can`t blame people for being aggravated by that.

RHODES: I don`t blame them. I really don`t blame them. And he ran a dirty campaign, quite frankly. I don`t think Corzine needed to go there with the fat joke. You know I mean that`s what he was presenting.

Oh look! Annie's trying to sell another book—and spouting her typical outrageous crap which is frankly growing quite tiresome. I'd like to know why Joy Behar thinks Coulter should be given another national format besides ClusterFox to spread her bile.

Behar asks Ann Coulter why there are so many more threats against President Obama to the point that it’s “straining the Secret Service” and of course Coulter is completely dismissive of the idea that what Behar cited is even true.

Coulter: I do not—I don’t know what the evidence is. I would be shocked if there were more threats against Obama.

Behar: I’m telling you—what is this another “I don’t believe the polls”? I’m telling you…

Coulter: It’s not a poll. I think they may be more aggressive about investigating it. But…

Behar: No, no, no—he’s getting more threats.

Coulter: A…As I have not only witnessed in my own life but described in guilty, every Presidential assassination or attempted Presidential assassination was committed by some sort of left wing loon, communist, anarchist, communitarians—yes they were—or they had no politics at all.

Behar: But the home grown terrorists are also another group that we have to worry about here.

Coulter: OK, but they’re all liberals, so if Obama gets assassinated…

Behar: Don’t make that jump from murderer to terrorist to liberals. That is an outrageous statement and you know it.

Coulter: Well it’s all described in Guilty… (crosstalk) …if you go through it assassin, by assassin, by assassin and moreover you to a…

Behar: Look, they’re not liberal…they’re murderers, they’re terrorists. Stop it.

Coulter: Right, but OK, what is the idealogy…

Behar: Stop it.

Coulter: They are communists. Look…

Behar: They are communists?

Coulter: Lee Harvey Osward tried to move to the Soviet Union. He was on his way to Cuba. He was a communist. You have one after another of all these guys. So it isn’t…it isn’t because Obama is liberal…if something happens to him it’s going to be MoveOn.org.

Behar: It’s because he’s black. Well come on. Let’s just say it.

Coulter: No, it’s…

Behar: Yes it is.

Coulter: Well OK maybe liberals, liberals are a little racist.

And the conversation goes even further downhill from there. I have neither the time nor the desire to debunk all of Coulter’s crap but I’m sure the commenters here can give us about a hundred reasons as to why what she said here is so completely wrong it’s comical, starting with the premise that all Presidential assassins were “left wing loons”. I don’t think she’s worth the energy to do so but if anyone else does, have at it. Just keep off of the he-man Coulter jokes please as not to insult any of our LGBT folks who visit the site and deserve better than being associated with the likes of Coulter-geist.

Gore Vidal gives Joy Behar her best interview to date!

Transcript via Nexis Lexis:

BEHAR: This man once said once that his greatest achievement was not killing anyone. Let`s hope that doesn`t change tonight. I`ve been an admirer of his for years, celebrated essayist, novelist, playwright, satirist. We don`t have enough space on the prompter to fill in everything that this guy has done. His new memoir is titled "Gore Vidal snapshots in history`s glare". Welcome to the show. It`s a pleasure to have you on the show.

GORE VIDAL: It`s a joy to me, Joy, to be on your show.

BEHAR: Now, I started with you wanted to kill somebody. You have anybody in mind right now?

VIDAL: Yes. Of course I do. Nobody present.

BEHAR: Nobody present that`s good.

VIDAL: We have to go to the district of Columbia where I go to work to cleanse the Republic.

BEHAR: OK so you don`t want to name names?

VIDAL: No, I won`t name names.

BEHAR: All right. Now let`s talk about -- I`ll name a couple of names. Barack Obama.

VIDAL: I like him. I wish he knew more about the United States because I was for Hillary at the beginning on the grounds she knew how to be President. Having sort of done the job as a spouse. And -- and I realized that he`s to intelligence for the job.

BEHAR: Obama is --

VIDAL: Well of course. The worst educated population of any first world country. And I hope you`re listening and I hope you know that your lack of education is the joke of the world. It`s not a very nice joke.

BEHAR: You`re talking to the Americans now.

VIDAL: The Americans, yeah.

BEHAR: Do they make fun of us in Italy where you lived for all those years?

VIDAL: No, cause Italians are kind.
