On his podcast, Ted Cruz explained that he and Senator Lindsay Graham crafted a letter to AT&T and DirecTv in an attempt to force the satellite TV provider to take back Newsmax and OANN.

OANN was dropped for many reasons including possible lawsuits and constantly spreading anti-vax, anti-COVID19 conspiracy theories throughout the pandemic and also regarding Trump's loss in the 2020 election.

Newsmax was dropped from their platform because of their carriage fee demands which would have raised costs to AT&T and passed through to consumers.

Cruz claimed the Democrats in Congress badgered AT&T to kick off Fox News and the other two much lesser, yet just as extreme right-wing propaganda factories over "misinformation."

That's code in Cruz's mind for "wingnut censorship." Everything everywhere all the time is a conspiracy to silence conservatives, doncha know?

Since Cruz has no power in the Senate to hold investigations against AT&T, he decided to try and squeeze them with his penmanship.

He'd be better off taking his writing skills and trying to fix the power grid in Texas so his constituents don't freeze to death.
