Just when I thought we could not possibly be overloaded with any more GOP primary debates, what do I find out we're going to get treated to? Donald Trump moderating yet another debate, this time sponsored by the right wing rag, Newsmax.

"The Donald" appeared on Fox's On the Record with Greta Van Susteren to hype the upcoming debate and I'd love to have a dollar for every time the words "ratings" or "serious" left his mouth during this interview.

I think a debate with Trump doing the moderating might be the only one we see where the moderator actually spends more time talking than the candidates are allowed to have time to answer.

Jon Huntsman has already dissed the Trump debate and said he's going to sit this one out:

We live in bewildering times. It wasn’t so long ago that the Donald was himself running in the Republican primary. Now he’s hosting a GOP primary debate for conservative publisher Newsmax in Iowa.

Not all the candidates are showing up, however. Jon Huntsman is sitting the debate out. His campaign told Business Insider, ”Lol. We look forward to watching Mitt and Newt suck-up to The Donald with a big bowl of popcorn.” Zeke Miller notes that sitting out the debate, “may help Huntsman with his message that he is the only adult in the GOP field.”

Huntsman is however, participating in another one of these "Lincoln-Douglas" style debates with recent frontrunner Newt Gingrich on Fox this Saturday night -- Jon Huntsman Campaign Scores Lincoln-Douglas Style Debate With Newt Gingrich.

That might at least prove to be a little more interesting than the last one of these Gingrich participated in with Herman Cain, where the so-called "debate" boiled down to Herman Cain basically spending most of their time saying... what Newt said... that I wrote about here -- Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich Debate at Adultery-Free 'Tea Party' Fundraiser.

As to the latest Trump moderated debate, it will be interesting to see if Mittens decides to show up or not. Greta also got the "big scoop" that Trump was going to endorse one of the candidates after the upcoming Newsmax debate was over, but Trump would not say if it would be immediately following the debate or not. I assume he believes that the Fox audience will be waiting with baited breath to find out who he plans to support. I can hardly wait (yawn). Trump apparently believes the rest of America thinks as highly of him as he does himself.
