Mike's Blog Round Up
November 10, 2016

Other than the fact that none of this seems real, like it's not really happening, and other than simply being in shock, my emotions over the past 36 hours or so have been, basically, sadness, disgust, fear, and anger, pretty much in that order. Like many of you, though, I really need me some Amy Poehler. It's just hard to find. And, right now, it just seems impossible.

Alicublog: The age of Il Douche.

Infidel753: It's a disaster.

P.M. Carpenter: America is no more.

And this is an essential point to understand in the wake of Tuesday's madness:

He may have "won," but the American people did not choose Donald Trump.

There may not be much joy, but there is hope, and it rests in the hearts and minds of the majority of Americans who reject Trump and everything he is about, everything he stands for. It will just take a lot of hard work and perseverance to take the country back from the forces of darkness.

And there is already a lot we can learn from the results, as crazy as they may be, that points the way to a longer-term Democratic response.

Stand firm, my friends. Stand firm.
