Fox’s ‘Objective’ Pemmaraju Lets Her Right-Wing Bias Fly On Twitter
December 14, 2015

Fox News anchor Uma Pemmaraju has the kind of Twitter feed Donald Trump could love.

Fox’s description of Pemmaraju sure makes her sound like she’s supposed to be part of Fox’s “objective” news, which the network claims is separate from their opinion shows.

Uma Pemmaraju currently serves as anchor for FOX News Channel’s (FNC) America’s News Headquarters (Saturdays 12-1PM/ET). She joined the network in 1996 and is based in New York.

Most recently, Pemmaraju provided live coverage of George Zimmerman’s murder trial. She has also reported on the aftermath of the deadly EF5 tornado in Moore, OK, the Boston Marathon bombings and the 2004, 2008 and 2012 presidential elections. Additionally, Pemmaraju has secured interviews with many public figures, including astronaut Buzz Aldrin, American televangelist Joel Osteen, actress Whoopi Goldberg and the Dalai Lama. Pemmaraju also hosted the FNC special, A Special for Young People, which featured top newsmakers offering advice on life challenges to young adults in March 2011.

But Pemmaraju’s Twitter feed shows a lot of conservative bias.

On December 10, Pemmaraju retweeted a Trump fan mocking Republican presidential candidate, Senator Lindsey Graham, for urging Republicans to tell “race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot” Trump to “go to hell.” Pemmaraju seemed to endorse or, at the very least like, a tweet that said, “Trump for president and you go can go to hell, Lindsey.” It also included a Twitterpic of Graham that labeled him as “the man with less than 1% in the polls.”

On the same day, Pemmaraju retweeted another right-wing tweet, this time one that urged people to "Stop trying to fix the POLICE! FIX THE GHETTO!" It included an image of a Fox regular and African-American black attacker, Sheriff David Clarke. The text on the tweeted Clarke image said, “Democrats and modern LIBERALISM are to blame for …the subculture that has risen out of the underclass in the American ghetto…” Underneath was written, “DEMOCRATS created the 'Black Lies Matter' MONSTER!”

Earlier in December, Pemmaraju retweeted a person who wrote, “WAKE UP AMERICA #NoSyrianRefugees.” Pemmaraju wrote, “Where will this lead? Does the U.S. dare risk the consequences at a time when so much is at stake?” The person she retweeted had an image in their tweet that said, “JOIN US/FACEBOOK STOP HILLARY IN 2016.”

We didn't see any retweets from liberals, by the way.

Fox News: where the “objective” anchors sound so much like the opinion hosts.

Correction: The original post said that Pemmaraju's two retweets were from the same person.
