It's almost like some sort of gag reflex from these pundits on the cable "news" shows, and I use that term lightly. You cannot say anything about how Republicans and those on the right are behaving without playing the false equivalency game and pretending that there is something just as egregious on the left.

Case in point, CNN's S.E. Cupp on this Sunday's State of the Union when she was asked about the shooting at Planned Parenthood and Hillary Clinton's tweet in support of the organization:

KIELAR: Do you think this changes the tenor of the debate over abortion right now?

CUPP: Well I think it's a terrible idea to blame debate for what is a horrific act of violence. If you're going to do that then you have to say that leftist rhetoric was to blame when Floyd Corkins went into the Family Research Center and shot up that office. That's just a wasteful exercise and to hear your former guest, John Hickenlooper, governor of Colorado, suggest that we need to somehow change our tone or police our rhetoric because of the act of what I'm assuming is going to be a mad man, is a distraction and a waste.

Of course no one asked her just what "leftist rhetoric" she was supposedly referring to that led to the shooting at the Family Research Council. I assume she's talking about groups like the SPLC labeling them a hate group for their dangerous rhetoric and the lies they constantly spread about the LGBT community, because that's the same line we heard from Tony Perkins following the incident.

Sorry S.E., but telling the truth about the FRC's hateful rhetoric is not the same as spreading lies about Planned Parenthood.

Can you help us out?
