Charles Krauthammer's twisted notion of the President's role would have the United States fighting World War III. Barring that, he'll just call Obama weak.
May 21, 2014

Never mind the fact that President Obama has unfortunately bought into this phony "war on terror" and continued way too many of the policies started under Bush, or that he's the one that actually did go find Bin Laden -- he's supposedly way too soft on terror to suit neocons like Charles Krauthammer, who aren't going to be happy until the United States gets ourselves involved in another country's civil war.

Once again, Krauthammer, joined by his buddy George Will, took great glee in finding yet another reason to call President Obama weak and attack him on foreign policy. And after watching him in action on this Tuesday's Special Report with Bret Baier, it seems Krauthammer would also be very happy to see us involved in a military intervention with both Russia and Iran.

From Fox's blog: Krauthammer on Syria's Assad: 'This Is a War He Won By Default':

The Daily Beast has reported that more than 100 Americans have joined the jihad in Syria to fight alongside Sunni terrorists. Senior American officials reportedly believe that between six and 12 Americans who have fought in Syria have since returned to the states.

In other news overseas, twin car bombs in Nigeria have killed at least 118 people.

On “Special Report,” Charles Krauthammer weighed in on the war in Syria, saying that the Russians and Iranians showed up to support Assad, while we never showed up to aid the other side.

He noted that Iran and Russia brought in weapons, then Iran mobilized Hezbollah and brought in revolutionary guards.

“This is a war [Assad] won by default,” he said.

Krauthammer also discussed terror threats in general.

“We have a president whose last major foreign policy address had one major theme: 'this war must end,' meaning the war on terror. 'It must end ‘cause it has really corrosive effects on the country. It’s gotta end, all wars have to end,' as if we can unilaterally end the war if the other guy won’t agree to do it,” Krauthammer said, adding that Obama is always trying to downplay threats.

Krauthammer said that Obama wants to live in a peaceful world, but that’s not the reality. He said the president’s job is to recognize a threat, mobilize support and oppose it, but he has done the opposite.

“Psychologically, he demobilized the country,” he said.

The horror! He's "demobilized the country" into not wanting to get into a mess we may not know how to get out of, and with an outcome that may be made worse by our involvement. As always, the answer to everything with these people is more guns. Arming everyone to the hilt solves everything.

One item they failed to note is that Krauthammer is still pushing to send arms into Syria, and here's his logic:

KRAUTHAMMER: At this point we can still identify non-Jihadi opposition and support them, to at least have a larger say when the fighting stops.

Yes, because sending in more arms will mean we've got more control over when they quit using those weapons. Brilliant! Why didn't I think of that?
