On tonight's episode of the Late Nite music Club, we celebrate the life and music of a great guitarist and composer.
February 27, 2014

Paco de Lucia will be dearly missed, having made great contributions to the world of classical guitar, having been a pioneer of the New Flamenco movement. This brought together Spanish, Romani, Latin American, Middle Eastern, African, and Jazz styles in a way that resulted unique and beautiful compositions from composers like de Lucia. However, tonight we have a composition by Spanish composer, Joaquin Rodrigo, which Paco performs beautifully while backed by a full symphony orchestra. I posted Miles Davis' version of the second movement of this piece some time ago, but it's tough to pick a favorite between his and Paco's.

We had some commenters posting their favorite tunes from Paco the other night, but let us know if you have any more favorite pieces of his (or of any other flamenco guitarists).

Can you help us out?
