Here we go again with more fearmongering from Fox and crazy-eyes, lying wingnut Rep. Michele Bachmann. The scandal-mongering continues with more attacks on the IRS. Now, not only is the department evil incarnate for going after those poor, poor tea partiers who are upset about delays in getting their tax exempt status -- that none of them deserved in the first place -- now the IRS is literally going to kill people as the "enforcer of Obamacare."

The death panels are back again and Bachmann has suddenly developed a concern about what Americans with pre-existing conditions are going to do to get insurance coverage. It's funny that they only care about that issue now that it involves repealing President Obama's health care law. I would love for someone to explain to me just what the Republicans and the likes of Bachmann have ever done or plan to do to help those who have been denied health insurance. Repealing the health care law with nothing to replace it will only make the matter worse, not better. That doesn't seem to matter much in wingnut world though.

It obviously didn't matter to Bachmann, who bragged to Cashin' In guest host Eric Bolling that they again wasted the taxpayers' time and money with yet another repeal vote this week, and who has convinced herself that after the mid-term elections, President Obama is going to be forced into having to sign a repeal of the law himself after the Senate follows the House's lead and passes it, I guess after half of the country dies from the IRS denying them health care... or something in the fantasy that is going on in Bachmann's mind.

Oh... and expect more hearings. I'm sure America can hardly wait for the clown show we already saw in Issa's committee last week to continue for months or years on end.

No matter how many times this "death panel" myth gets debunked, you can count on Fox to do their best to continue to resuscitate it, as Fox's Neil Cavuto and one of their team of crackpot doctors, Manny Alvarez did this Thursday afternoon.

Leave it to Fox to take what otherwise looks like a pretty benign study by the University of California, San Francisco and turn it on its head as the new "death panels" in "Obamacare." Alvarez wrote an op-ed for the Fox News web site which you can read here which I'm quite sure was the basis for his appearance here with Cavuto: Dr. Manny: I am completely against this new medical ‘death test’:

Let me be very clear: I did not go into medicine to decide who lives and who dies.

I went into health care because I wanted to heal, to comfort, to educate and to study the illnesses that afflict my patients. And I don’t need a crystal ball to know when a patient is extremely safe or when he or she is going to die.

So I am somewhat confused as to the purpose of this new ‘mortality index.’ A new study from the University of California, San Francisco with funding from the federal government revealed 12 specific items physicians can use to help them determine whether costly screenings or medical procedures are worth the risk for patients unlikely to live 10 years or more.

WTF is Michael Steele talking about here? The Republicans just can't stop themselves from using this sort of eliminationist rhetoric can they? When asked about the Health Care Summit and how he thought it went, Michael Steele throws in some Sarah Palin rhetoric for no good reason I can think of other than some red meat for their base with his prediction for election losses. And of course Steele also doesn't think the President spent enough time listening to the petulant children in the room while they lied and repeated Republican talking points ad nauseum. Steele continues to peddle the lie that if Democrats just adopted more Republican ideas into the health care bill than they did already, Republicans might work with them.

Sorry Michael, but even if the Democrats adopted a bill that was made up of nothing but Republican ideas I think they still would not vote for it. They’ve already proven that by voting against things they championed for in the past and now pretend they didn’t time and time again. The media however continues to let them get away with the hypocrisy. I want to see Steele come on Maddow’s show and try to peddle this same crap. Won’t ever happen since she’d actually call him out for his lies unlike Blitzer.

And honestly as bad as some parts of the health care bill are, does Steele honestly think that it's going to be good for Republicans if they do manage to roll it back once and if it becomes law? People thought that Romney care was awful, but it seems the people in Massachusetts are generally happy with it if the polling done on Scott Brown's election is accurate. And I'd just add if they did try to roll parts of it back, it sure as hell would not be the bad parts. These guys have got nothing to offer that helps every day Americans instead of corporations. Nothing.

BLITZER: Let's get to Michael Steele right now. He's the chairman of the Republican Party. Michael Steele, thanks very much for coming in.

STEELE: Hey, Wolf. Great to be with you, man.

BLITZER: Do you just assume that when all the dust settles in the coming weeks, the Democrats are going to have the up or down vote in the House and the Senate that they need to get healthcare reform passed?

STEELE: I really don't know, right off the top but I would suspect that wherever they are, it's not going to be in a good place. I mean, you had a lot of folks going into yesterday's event, if you will, calling it a dog and pony show for the president and his democrats. Well, I took a slightly different tack on that, a different point of view on it.

For me, just the whole approach of this thing represented more of a death panel for Obama-care. You know, if that wasn't enough, when you come out of this thing and you're looking at the reconciliation fight that may loom ahead of us, it certainly will have represented a death panel for the Democrats this fall.
