Fox News will benefit more than any other network from the Republican presidential primaries because they "own" most of the candidates, according to one their prominent anchors.

Chris Wallace phoned in to Fox Business Network's Imus in the Morning Thursday to talk about his recent appearance on Comedy Central's The Daily Show. Wallace had half-jokingly explained to Comedy Central host Jon Stewart how Fox News was planning to profit from the fact that so many GOP contenders work at the network.

"We're thinking of a 13 week series like American Idol or Dancing with the Stars: The GOP Presidential Primary," Wallace said.

The next day, Wallace was serious when he made the same pitch to Don Imus.

"As I said on Stewart, because we own all of the people who are running for president, we're going to turn it into a 13-week series, like Dancing with the Stars or something," he said.

"The Republican primaries will be a production of Fox News," Wallace added.

The marketing of Republican presidential candidates is already underway at the network. In a new special, host Bret Baier will profile 12 top potential GOP candidates in 12 days. The network has landed interviews with 11 of the of the 12.

Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum are four Republican presidential contenders that work as contributors for Fox News.

At least one potential candidate, Sarah Palin, has little desire to talk to any outlet besides Fox News. "I will not talk to reporters who have an obvious bias or vendetta or are going to turn my words into something that they're not meant to be," Palin told Shepard Smith Tuesday.

Looks like John McCain lost control of that famous temper of his once again. After the Senate voted to filibuster the Defense Authorization Act and the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell, McCain had this heated exchange with reporters in the Senate print gallery. According to ABC News, reporters are not supposed to take pictures or record video in that area, so here's how McCain acts when he assumes no one is recording him.

CBS's The Note also transcribed the exchange:

“Regulations are you do not go out and seek to find out someone’s sexual orientation,” McCain said. “You do not. That is the fact. That is the fact. Now, ma’am, I know the military very well and I know what’s being done and what is being done is that they are not seeking out people who are gay. I don’t care what you say, I know it’s a fact. Okay?”

“It’s not what I say,” replied the reporter.

“I know what you say,” responded McCain. “I don’t care what you say. I don’t care what others say. I’ve seen it in action. I’ve seen it in action. I have sons in the military. I know the military very well. So they’re not telling you the truth.”

The reporter then said, “Just to make sure – “

“Just to make sure,” McCain interrupted, “we do not go out and seek out – no one goes out to see whether someone is gay or not. We do not go out to seek to find out whether someone is gay or not.”

“Private emails are not being searched?” the reporter then asked numerous times. “There are documented cases.”

“They do not,” McCain stated. “They do not. They do not. You can say that they are. You can say that pigs fly, but it’s not true.”

“That is the case of Mike Almy,” a second reporter interjected. Almy was discharged from the Air Force in 2006 after a search of his private e-mails revealed he was gay.

“It is not the policy,” McCain replied. “It is not the policy. It’s not the policy. It’s not the policy. It’s not the policy. It’s not the policy. It’s not the policy. You can say that is the policy, sir, if you choose to, but it’s not the policy. I’ll be glad to get that to you in writing.”

Rachel Maddow brought on Maj. Mike Almy to respond to Sen. McCain's outburst. As he noted McCain should know full well that there are private emails being searched since he testified in front of McCain about it happening to him. As he said either McCain wasn't paying any attention during the hearing, or he's lying. I'd opt for the latter. That angry old man still isn't over having lost the presidential election.

Sharron Angle is at it again, running away from reporters and still not ready for prime time.

Run, Sharron, run! How is this woman going to survive a debate if she can't handle taking reporters' questions at her own press conference?

GOP Senate candidate Angle avoids press at own event:

U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle invited local media to attend a press event in Reno Wednesday morning, but when members of the media tried to ask the candidate questions she didn't answer.

At the event this morning Angle signed a pledge to repeal the estate tax-or "death tax"- if she's elected, made a few brief statements and walked away with several members of the local media in tow.

News 4 Reporter Karen Griffin was one of the reporters trying to ask Angle questions and she actually ignored the questions, looked straight ahead and kept walking.

News 4 arrived at this morning's event early to make sure we could talk with Angle. News 4 listened to the press conference and when it ended, Angle simply walked away.

One of the questions was a request for a response to Rep. Dean Heller's, R-Nev., comment that he made the night before on a political talk show about her comments about the unemployed.

Following this morning's event, Reporter Karen Griffin contacted University of Nevada, Reno Political Science Professor Eric Herzik to see if there's any benefit for a candidate avoiding the media as Sharron Angle has. Here's what he had to say:

"This is part of the skill of the candidate. If you're given a question you don't like, answer the question you want to answer. Turn the question around. And she's not doing that. Turning her back and walking away from a camera is a pretty damning visual image for a candidate."

To be fair News 4 emailed Angle's campaign following the press event to see if she would answer the question we asked, and to see where she had to be after the event. News 4 has not heard from the Angle campaign.

News 4 received some negative feedback on this story; people asking why we were late to this event, and why we didn't ask our questions during the press event, and why this is a news story.

There were no opportunities for questions during the event, that's why we asked for Angle to answer questions as soon as the event ended.
