Last month, we had The Catholic League's Bill Donohue going after Hilary Rosen in an extremely ugly attack because she dared to commit the sin, in Donohue's mind, of being a lesbian with adopted children after the big dust up over her statement about Ann Romney. Because god knows you're only supposed to be allowed to raise children if you're straight. Now he's on the attack again over HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius being invited to speak at a Georgetown University commencement ceremony.

Donohue went over a similar set of grievances that he expressed to Megyn Kelly in the clip above in a post on their web site here: Kathleen Sebelius to Speak at Georgetown Commencement Ceremony:

In what can only be interpreted as a direct challenge to America’s Catholic bishops, Georgetown University has announced that “pro-choice” Catholic Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and lead architect of the Obama administration’s assault on religious freedom through the HHS contraception mandate, has been invited to speak at one of Georgetown’s several commencement ceremonies.

The Cardinal Newman Society has posted a petition to protest this outrage here: GeorgetownScandal.com. It has also alerted Washington Cardinal Donald Wuerl and sent a letter to Georgetown President John DeGioia urging him to immediately withdraw the invitation. [...]

The nation’s oldest Catholic and Jesuit university has chosen to honor Sebelius by granting her a prestigious platform at its Public Policy Institute commencement ceremony, despite her role as the lead architect of a healthcare mandate that will force Catholic institutions to pay for contraception, abortifacients and sterilization against their religious beliefs. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has termed the mandate “an unwarranted government definition of religion” that is “alien both to our Catholic tradition and to federal law,” “a violation of personal civil rights” and “a mandate to act against our teachings.”

But Secretary Sebelius’ record on abortion is at least as troubling as the mandate. When Governor of Kansas, Sebelius supported abortion rights and vetoed pro-life legislation. In 2008, Archbishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City reportedly told Sebelius, a Roman Catholic, to stop receiving the Eucharist until she publicly recants her position on abortion and makes a “worthy sacramental confession.”

During the interview above, Donohue also claimed that Sebelius may have been excommunicated and "her best friend was George the killer Tiller," referencing of course the now assassinated abortion doctor who is no longer with us today, thanks in part to the flame throwing by the likes of Bill O'Reilly and his ilk.

And as Think Progress noted of this same interview: Catholic League President Compares Pro-Choice Groups To Neo-Nazis:

"Wanted" posters are giving abortion doctors in North Carolina something to be concerned about.

CBS News reports that Operation Save America is responsible for putting up Wanted posters with the faces of abortion doctors. One flyer even cites a home address.

"It doesn't say 'Wanted Dead or Alive' but the implications are clearly there," said one doctor who wished to remain anonymous.

"These 'Wanted' posters are a call for my murder," the doctor told CBS News.

"The posters are meant to call for my murder by that borderline person," said the doctor. "They are putting out the bait, they are putting out the message, the call, and hope that somebody will respond."

In the 1990s several doctors were killed after appearing on Wanted posters. In 1993, Dr. David Gunn and Dr. George Patterson were murdered. A year later, Dr. John Britton was also shot and killed.

An assassination attempt was made on Dr. George Tiller's life in 1993. Tiller was later killed by an abortion activist in 2009.

But Flip Benham, the founder of Operation Save America, denies that the posters invite violence.

"If you read the writing in there, it's wanted by Christ," he said. "We want them to meet Jesus."

In 2002, a US Appeals Court ruled that Wanted posters were a violation of a federal law that makes it a crime to prevent people for having access to clinics.

But CBS News legal correspondent Jan Crawford says the 2002 ruling was for a limited area and doesn't apply to the new Wanted posters.

"It doesn't affect the poster in Charlotte that are at issue now," she said.

Katherine Spillar, executive vice president of Feminist Majority Foundation, has asked the Justice Department to investigate the new flyers.

"We know what the pattern has been year after year," said Spillar. "We need tough prosecution before more doctors are murdered."

"I am always looking over my shoulder," one doctor said. "I know they know my car. They know my face. They've been to my house. They've put these posters in my neighborhood. So yeah, I look over my shoulder."

An abortion provider in Kansas, Dr. George R. Tiller describes the violence perpetrated against him and his clinic by anti-choice activists. Find out more at http://www.prch.org. (Video excerpted from the 2003 documentary Voices of Choice produced by Physicians for Reproductive Choice and Health)

Via The Wichita Eagle:

WICHITA - George Tiller, the Wichita doctor who became a national lightning rod in the debate over abortion, was shot to death this morning as he walked into church services.

Tiller, 67, was shot just after 10 a.m. at Reformation Lutheran Church at 7601 E. 13th, where he was a member of the congregation. Witnesses and a police source confirmed Tiller was the victim.

No information has been released about whether a suspect is in custody.

...

Tiller's clinic was severely vandalized earlier this month. According to the Associated Press, his lawyer said wires to security cameras and outdoor lights were cut and that the vandals also cut through the roof and plugged the buildings' downspouts. Rain poured through the roof and caused thousands of dollars of damage in the clinic. Tiller reportedly asked the FBI to investigate the incident.

...

Tiller and his clinic have faced continuous threats and lawsuits. A Wichita jury ruled in March that he was not guilty of illegal abortion on 19 criminal charges he faced for allegedly violating a state law requiring an "independent" second physician's concurring opinion before performing later term abortions. Immediately following the ruling in this criminal case, the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts made public a similar complaint against Tiller that was originally filed in December 2008. Tiller's medical license could eventually be suspended or revoked by the board on the basis of the complaint.
