Michael Moore continued making the rounds this Thursday on The Ed Schultz Show to discuss what's going on in Michigan with the passage of their union busting "right to work for less" law. Moore reiterated his disgust for what's happened to his home state, where the middle class was born. Apparently Moore would like to help do something about that though.

MOORE: A number of things are going to happen. First of all, the unions and the Democratic party there are going to use every legal means possible to obstruct this thing that they've done, which is against the will of the people. That's number one.

Number two, the Democratic Party of Michigan has got to run candidates who are going to win. And in the last two days I've spent a lot of time talking to friends and colleagues in Michigan, and we're going to put together our own search committee. We are going to recruit candidates who are going to win. We don't need to win all the seats. We just need to identify just a few. We're only behind by a few, a few seats, and remove those Republicans in 2014 and get someone to run for governor who's going to win.

You know, you had Verge on last night, he's great guy, Lansing mayor, but, you know, it's like the Republicans, they run somebody that wins. This is why they have both of these governorships. I think we need to run -- if I were the Michigan Democratic Party, I would be approaching beloved Democrats in the state of Michigan who the people would love -- a number of ex- Red Wings, for instance.

SCHULTZ: Sure.

MOORE: Denise Ilitch, from the Ilitch family that owns the Tigers and the Red Wings and Little Caesars. They're Democrats.

SCHULTZ: People that people like.

MOORE: They like them, and that family's a beloved business and the sports teams. I mean, why not run people, that the people like? That's what the Republicans have done -- they ran Schwarzenegger in California. they run -- they always run these people -- Reagan...

SCHULTZ: So you're hands-on to get good candidates.

MOORE: Absolutely and we've got to start that now, not next month or next year. That has to start right now. and we're starting it right now.

All I can say is I wish him and the state of Michigan luck with recruiting some winning candidates. Republicans have done so much damage already, it's hard to see a lot of it ever being turned back.

Conservative MSNBC host Joe Scarborough cried out for his Savior on Wednesday after viewing video of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney awkwardly trying to get a crowd in Ohio to chant his name.

After Romney gave a shout out to his running mate, Paul Ryan, in Vandalia, Ohio on Tuesday, the crowd got excited and began chanting, "Ryan! Ryan!"

"Wait a second," Romney said, reminding the crowd that he was at the top of the ticket.

"Romney-Ryan, Romney-Ryan," the former governor instructed the crowd, although most of them ignored him. "There we go."

After co-host Mika Brzezinski played the video on Wednesday, Scarborough could only put his hands over his eyes and utter, "Oh, sweet Jesus."

"What do the Catholics say? 'Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us now in the hour of [death]'?" the conservative host wondered.

"No, it's over," Brzezinski pointed out. "It's not going to work. It's too late for that."

"You know what? You don't fix it," Scarborough agreed. "Sadly, I say this about Mitt Romney, he's a great man. He is. He's a great father. He's a great husband. He is a great business man, great turnaround guy. If I had a business anywhere in the world, I'd have him run it. He just -- he's a horrible politician. He's one of the worst."

Former Bush budget director and Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels was more than happy to tout his state's union busting as a model for the country during his interview on Fox News Sunday, but when asked about Indiana's ranking as 46th in state worker gross salary, the best he could come up with is to pretend he'd never heard those stats before.

Daniels bragged that his state has been "rated as one of the best jobs climates in the country by everyone now." I'm guessing "everyone now" means businesses that would like a race to the bottom on wages and benefits and not the workers whose collective bargaining rights he just destroyed.

WALLACE: Well, let's look at what you have done as governor of Indiana. It is a long list. Let's take a look.

In 2005, you ended collective bargaining rights for state workers on first day in office. In 2011, you restricted teachers bargaining rights. In 2012, this year, you signed a right to work law that said people don't have to join a union to get a job.

It sounds, Governor, like a pretty concerted effort to break public and private unions.

DANIELS: I don't see it that way at all. Now, I will say that on the government side, we felt if we were going to do right by taxpayers and if we were going to make government work effectively as it does in Indiana, there was a survey last year in which 77 percent of Hoosiers said they thought the state government was effective. It's the second highest number in the country. If we do those things we have to have freedom to move resources where they were need, move people where they were needed, pay people on the basis of their performance and not simply their seniority, and we are doing that in the state now, I think to a very positive affect.

Gee, I wonder if Greta Van Susteren will ask Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer about this the next time she comes on her show fear mongering about Arizona's illegal immigration problem? Seems she has some advisers that have lobbying ties to the private prison industry. Color me not shocked. From KPHO-5, Phoenix, AZ:

Hotel Owners: Ariz. Politicians Scaring Tourists - Private Prisons Might Gain From New Immigration Law:

Between the economy and boycotts related to Arizona’s tough new immigration law, SB 1070, tourism in the state is down 10 percent.

They said state politicians are not helping matters. Just flip on cable news, and you’re likely to see an anchor or reporter talking about an invasion at the border, or headless bodies in the desert, or a rash of kidnappings.

During this election cycle, Arizona politicians have touted the potential danger of illegal immigration. Gov. Jan Brewer is one of the loudest voices.

She has made several statements to the national media, the validity of which CBS 5 Investigates could not confirm. The governor told one media outlet that almost all illegal immigrants are bringing drugs across the border. U.S. Border Patrol officials said that statement is false.

Brewer also said law enforcement officials have found decapitated bodies in the desert. Calls to all of Arizona’s border county medical examiners revealed no decapitated bodies have been reported to them.

A look at data from the FBI shows crime in Arizona is actually down. Murders in Phoenix have dropped by 50 percent since 2003. The violent crime rate across the state has dropped every year since at least 2004. Even the number of illegal border crossers is down. Border Patrol numbers show they are arresting half as many illegal immigrants as they did in 2004. [...]

In the meantime, a CBS 5 investigation revealed that there is one business that could gain from the implementation of SB 1070 and similar immigration measures. The private prison industry houses illegal immigrant detainees for the federal government. Those companies could gain contracts with state and local agencies to house illegal immigrants arrested for state violations.

Corrections Corporation of America, or CCA, holds the federal contract to house detainees in Arizona. The company bills $11 million per month. CBS 5 Investigates has learned that two of Brewer’s top advisers have connections to CCA.

Paul Senseman is the governor’s deputy chief of staff. He is also a former lobbyist for CCA. His wife is listed as a current lobbyist for the company.

Chuck Coughlin is one of the governor’s policy advisers and her campaign chairman. Coughlin’s company, HighGround Public Affairs Consultants, currently lobbies for CCA.

CCA issued the following statement to CBS 5 Investigates:

“CCA, unequivocally, did not at any time lobby - nor did we have any outside consultants lobby - anyone in Arizona on the immigration law. Nor are we proposing to house detainee immigrants as a result of SB 1070. We currently have no contracts with the State or any counties. CCA very proudly does have a presence in Arizona, as we own and operate 6 correctional facilities, employing more than 2,500 Arizona residents. These contracts are with other state and federal jurisdictions.”

Meanwhile, at Rancho de la Osa, Richard and Veronica Schultz said they don’t know much about the motives behind the politicians making alarming statements about the border. Read on...

In his new ad "Language," Republican gubernatorial candidate Tim James tell us, "This is Alabama. We speak English."

...James goes on to tell us that his administration would stop giving the drivers' license test in 12 languages: "Maybe it's the businessman in me, but we'll save money."

...On his website, James includes a category called "Common Sense for Crime and Public Safety." It starts with crystal meth and spouse abuse and ends with the prisons' revolving doors, and in between: "Enforce Alabama's Constitutional Amendment declaring English as the state's official language." Tea Party candidate for NY Governor Carl Paladino wins Keith's Worst Persons for this, from TPM. Tea Party NY Gov Candidate's E-Mails Exposed: Racism, Porn, Bestiality:

An online news outlet in New York state has obtained dozens of emails, many of them racist and sexually graphic, which it reports were sent by Carl Paladino, the Tea-Party-backed Republican candidate for governor of New York, to a long list of political and business associates. One email shows a video of an African tribal dance, entitled "Obama Inauguration Rehearsal," while another depicts hardcore bestiality.

Paladino's campaign manager, Michael Caputo, would not comment on specific emails, but acknowledged to TPMmuckraker that Paladino had sent emails that were "off-color" and "politically incorrect," saying that few such emails represented the candidate's own opinion. Caputo accused Democrats of wanting to change the subject from substantive issues to "having sex with horses."

As TPM noted, here are "some of the most eyebrow-raising":

• An October 2009 email with a photograph showing President Obama and the First Lady dressed in 70s-era blaxploitation pimp and prostitute costumes while attending a formal event at the White House. Here's the photo, courtesy of WNYmedia.net:

• A December 2008 email showing a video of African tribesmen performing a traditional dance. The video is entitled "Obama Inauguration Rehearsal."

• A September 2009 email entitled, "Easy Steady Big Fella....XXXX," with a photograph that graphically depicts a horse having sex with a woman.

• A January 2010 email, containing a hardcore pornographic video entitled "Miss France 2008 F[***]ing."

• A July 2009 email showing a photograph of an airplane landing directly behind a group of black men. The caption reads: "Holy Sh*t. run ni**ers, run!"
