Here's one more reason to send some money to Tommy Thompson's opponent for the Senate in Wisconsin, Tammy Baldwin -- Wisconsin Senate Candidate's Son Says We "Have The Opportunity" To Send Obama Back To Kenya:

Jason Thompson, the son of former Governor and Wisconson Senate candidate Tommy Thompson, speaking this morning at a brunch attended RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said that “we have the opportunity to send President Obama back to Chicago — or Kenya.” A woman in attendance then chimed in “we are taking donations for that Kenya trip.” A spokesman for Thompson did not immediately return a request for comment.

The Thompson campaign since apologized for his son's behavior, but the damage is done. Somehow I don't think it's going to help Thompson with independents to have his kid out there making birther jokes. Here's the link to the Act Blue page for Senate.

[h/t TPM]

After standing tall in support of Mitt Romney's 47 percent comments, this secret video of Tommy Thompson promising TeaBirchers he'll do away with the "rest of the entitlements" comes up. Oh, the things they say and how they wish this wasn't the age of YouTube.

Meanwhile, Tammy Baldwin is running away from Thompson in the polls, even as Thompson continues to huddle with his pal Mitt.

Also, what is it with Republicans and PowerPoint presentations? Sheesh.

Update: After Tammy Baldwin smacked Thompson down over those comments, Thompson's campaign issued what might be the most disingenuous statement ever, saying:

In a statement to TPM, the Thompson campaign responded by saying Baldwin “would rather lie and demagogue the issues than put forth a credible plan,” declaring that Thompson “actually provides solutions to our nation’s problems.”

In this video, Thompson was making the case for reforming Medicare so that we can protect it for current seniors and preserve it for future generations,” his spokeswoman Lisa Boothe said. “That is evidenced by his comments at the end of the video where he says he wants people to have a choice to either stay on Medicare as it is or give people another option.”

Bircher Bullsh*t.

Bill O'Reilly used his Talking Points Memo segment Monday night to attack various speakers at the upcoming Democratic National Convention, and in particular Sandra Fluke and treat his viewers to a big heaping helping of projection and false equivalencies.

That sleazy Sandra Fluke just wants tax payers to pay for her birth control, even though she doesn't. Democrats have a bunch of "far left loons" and abortion loving extremists speaking at their convention that just want to fearmonger over Republican policies on women, Medicare, that they want to make the rich richer and don't care about the working class -- or in other words tell the truth. And oh my God they've got that radical leftist Elizabeth Warren speaking and that lesbian woman Tammy Baldwin... the horror!

And Republicans, in Bill-O's world anyway, have a bunch of moderates speaking at their convention and no one from the far right -- they even told Sarah Palin to stay home. Although Rick Santorum is speaking. And no "local" tea partiers, but Rand Paul is speaking. And other than that all moderates. And Mike Huckabee.

Upside down land thy name is Fox.

During some of MSNBC's extended coverage of the recall elections in Wisconsin and with things looking like it could come down to Waukesha County again after what we already went through with the Supreme Court race there, John Nichols stated the obvious. Rep. Tammy Baldwin was correct to say that Waukesha County county clerk Kathy Nickolaus should be investigated by the Department of Justice.

The question is, why hasn't Attorney General Eric Holder done anything about it? Or need I ask given his track record?

Here's a reminder from this past April on the call for Nickolaus to be investigated -- Tammy Baldwin Asks Eric Holder To Investigate Wisconsin Supreme Court Election:

After the bombshell announcement that a Waukesha County clerk forgot to report thousands of votes in Wisconsin's Supreme Court election, Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.) is asking U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to involve the federal government in the ongoing investigation.

Last Tuesday's election, which pitted conservative incumbent David Prosser against progressive candidate JoAnne Kloppenburg, appeared to end with Kloppenburg winning by a razor-thin margin, with initial results showing her just a couple of hundred votes ahead. But on Thursday, Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus held a dramatic press conference and admitted that she had forgotten to report the votes of the city of Brookfield. The adjusted total gave Prosser a 7,500-vote advantage.

On Friday evening, Baldwin sent a letter to Holder, saying that many of her constituents had expressed concern about the announcement. She requested that the Department of Justice's Public Integrity Section, which oversees the federal prosecution of election crimes, investigate the handling of Waukesha County's vote records.

"For our democracy to endure, we, the people, must have faith in its laws and system of justice, including faith that our elections for public office are fair and free from any manipulating or tampering," wrote Baldwin. "Following this week’s election for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, numerous constituents have contacted me expressing serious doubt that this election was a free and fair one. They fear, as I do, that political interests are manipulating the results."

A Justice Department spokesperson told The Huffington Post that they had received the letter and are reviewing the matter. Read on...
