Stephen Colbert opined on the subject of open marriage, after first brusquely dismissing the question from Morning Joe's Willie Geist as a "garbage question". When John Heileman brought the subject up later he had a bit more to say on the subject.

STEPHEN COLBERT: "Honesty is the best policy. Here’s the thing that I don’t think Newt Gingrich gets enough credit for: a lot of politicians screw around on their wives, but he was enough of a gentleman to ask permission. That’s a Southern gentleman. That’s what Robert E. Lee would have done."

...guarantee you since Colbert's sense of humor is out of the grasp of 99% of South Carolina Republicans, they'll take Colbert's statement at face value & say, "That Steven Colbert. I've never heard of him, but what a nice young man."

When Fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in excess body fat & carrying a misspelled sign.

pissed off patricia's picture

The ones that are that stupid won't be able to find where they are supposed to cast their ballot so they won't count.

Colbert is fast on his feet with the funny. I always wondered how much of his stuff was his writers and now I know he can go solo. I think I love him even more. Does that make me a Colbert-bot? I sure can live with that.

Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
