White House White Board: The Rebirth of the American Auto Industry
Via The White House blog:
In the fourth edition of White House White Board, Austan Goolsbee, Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, discusses the President’s tough decisions on the American auto industry in light of the General Motors IPO.
Goolsbee is so good at these things that you wonder why the White House didn't do them sooner.

the Obama and Democrats have done that to you? Saving those filthy gas guzzler producing corporations, disgraceful. Snark aside, I really like this white board. Yea Austen.

Obama should make it a major point to talk about the GM success story, tell it over and over, and repeatedly refer to these videos so that people will have to watch them. Put Goolsbee out on the road to go around the country telling the story. Take on the tea nimrods, challenge them, and force them to STFU. Not that they will of course, but if the administration doesn't really start to fight, they'll die by a thousand cuts.
would it.

So are they hiring now?

Bad mistake.
was that the pontiac was so ugly.
The Aztec, definitely. (Looked like a Rolodex on wheels.) The Grand Prix and Grand Am, not so much. I have an Olds Alero sedan (used), which is essentially the Grand Am with an Olds plate, and I'm quite happy with it. It's showing its age (it's a 2000), and it's got an assload of miles on it, but overall it's still in good shape. No major problems other than what you'd expect for an 11-year-old car with a ton of miles on it.
"Whatever your particular problem is, I promise you, the Republicans are not the least bit interested in solving it. They are interested in two things, and two things only: making you afraid of it, and telling you who's to blame for it."
I thought Pontiac had some nice offerings lately. I think it had to do with too much administrative overhead with so many lines.

the extra body moldings distract from the actual body design.
Excellent! Shout it from the roofs. Scream from the mountain tops. This worked and it worked in more ways than one.
It worked alright but it pisses me off that GM for one turns around and starts shipping production and jobs out the country . A nice kick in the wal-nuts after we bail them out .
Insanity , it is what it is , there is no understanding it .
... great news regarding the IPO if you're an investor. Will the extra cash be used to compensate back the workers which had to do tremendous concessions on their pension/pay scales?
It is a Friday afternoon, so I will just take any good news at this point.
CTHULHU 2012 "Why vote for a lesser evil?"
Great fun to listen to him, as for GM's success, I'll reserve judgement until after the first 5 years. A new IPO does not equate to success.

And if you believe this corporate ******** bullshit, you really are a rube.
