UC Davis Chancellor Katehi's Walk of Shame
via Xeni Jarden at Boing Boing:
I thought I wouldn't see a more dramatic video than the ones yesterday of the pepper-spraying of students by police at UC Davis. I was wrong.
In the video above, UC Davis students, silent, with linked arms, confront Chancellor Linda Katehi just one day after the incident. It's hard to tell exactly how many of them are present, but there they are, a huge crowd. They're seated in the same cross-legged-on-the-ground position their fellow students were yesterday just before Lt. John Pike pulled out a can of pepper spray and pulled the trigger.
Note that Katehi remains silent during what looks like her perp walk. She does not acknowledge the presence of the students. And yet, within an hour she was live on CNN explaining away the pepper-spray incident to host Don Lemon, who had to cut her off a few times because her responses were so long-winded.
Another murkier video shot by Think Progress' Lee Fang has been viewed over 100,000x -- since last night.

Until somebody spoke to her......... she should be "Sent to Coventry", SHUNNED for her incredibly antisocial behavior, and anybody who communicates with her should be shunned as well.........!!
The first casualty of republicanism is the truth.
Party politics are not only undemocratic, they are antidemocratic.
...university students make me despair, all the vapidness, the pettiness, the immaturity, the silly arguments, student housing treated like slums by their occupants, at least where I live. I haven't seen a lot of political acumen in all that many students over the years, the apathetic disinterest seemed epidemic.
Then they go do something like this and make me feel like the country, maybe even the world, really is going to be okay after all, we've got great people who are already doing important and wonderful things with their lives. Their moment of truth came and they are shining.
Chancellor Kaheti, your moment of truth has come and gone. You failed. Terribly. If you have any integrity left, prove it to those students who deserve to see it, who've earned the right to call for it, and resign.
Devastating
"This world demands the qualities of youth: not a time of life but a state of mind" -- Robert F. Kennedy
..stuff.
If only our elected officials & media hyenas possessed the maturity & discipline to know when to use silence as a weapon.
When Fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in excess body fat & carrying a misspelled sign.
