Say Anything
John McCain isn't selling his soul for political gain -- he's driving down its price so he can make a fortune in default swaps on the backend.
The Daily Show does something quite clever here. Instead of just taking the many, many instances that openly contradict McCain's ridiculous statement that he doesn't consider himself a "maverick" (despite the decades of self-promotion as such) they reduce McCain's pandering to the absurdity it is. McCain just happens to have a serious Teabagger threat this year in J.D. Hayworth to contend with, so is tacking hard right and jettisoning his own trademark.
Entitlement is all John McCain is about these days, and he will say and do whatever it takes to keep his senate seat. A hollow thing that says "mine".

He's a Republican, isn't he?
Collecting government disability while earning his exorbitant Senate salary.
That would be like Sarah Palin saying, "Why, yes I am a quitter."

Hope McCranky wasn't counting on a boost from Daily Show viewers.
moderates in the center. He has zero chance of earning the votes of the far right voters, but he didn't seem to think so when he sold out all the independents and moderates in the center. Arizona Republicans should reject McCain and nominate Hayworth. At least he stands by his principles, regardless of what he believes.
There is anyone in the GOP with enough intelligence to understand anything Jon said!
republicanism/conservatism is a mental illness!
I've never seen anyone so dickish going back on their word"
We wondered that all along.
me-oww!
How many voted for McCain/Palin?
That is the number of people who actually scare me.
This petty smal minded shell could have won (if he didn't also scare Diebold).

Depend on Jon Stewart to take a completely different tack on McCain's lack of principles and use it to make the erstwhile 'maverick' look like the silly, desperate old fool he has become.
I'm a Vietnam veteran and McCain reminds me of the type of officer that got hit by friendly fire on purpose.

has been very funny last week and this week. I stopped watching for a while. Jon is always great but I think he needs to get some new supporting people. Granted following in the footsteps of Stephen/Steven is hard but the current guys just aren't very funny IMO. With the Steph/vens they always played it straight as if they really believed the nonsense they were spouting the way the news actors that they are mocking do. With the current guys its as if they are almost winking and smirking in between lines, isn't this all a cool put on? It takes away a lot of the humor.
Does anyone else find it strange that the former maverick-type McCain, in running against his Tea Bagger supporting opponent, has their official Cheerleader Sarah Paydaylin stumping for him?
