Sean Hannity of Fox News tried this week to goad Republican challengers Sam Caliguiri and Rob Simmons into calling Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT) "a lying weasel" on national tv. One gladly took the bit in his teeth and ran with it, one did not. Hannity's glee came from a local Connecticut rag publication, the New Haven Register.
The knives have come out in earnest for Senator Dodd in recent weeks in the wake of the AIG bonuses fiasco, and some recent bad poll numbers, and we can expect more yellow journalism in the coming months as this plays out until the senate election some 18 months away.
If these republicans want to lay with the likes of a Sean Hannity, intent on negative campaigning for the duration, then I fully expect Senator Dodd to recover. In recent years three republican congressmen in Connecticut have gone down to defeat employing such tactics, one of them being Rob Simmons himself.
I like titles that start with "Of".

Dodd's chances may have taken a hit but they still look good. As far as these Republican slime go and their shit campaigning, as a great philosopher once said "bring em on".

We will be seeing this line of bull for the next 4 years. We will see nothing but obstruction for the next 4 years We will see every poll taken that 26% cant stand President Obama for the next 4 years.
We will see this even if the stock market soars, Unemployment goes down and there is peace in the middle east. They just do not like a liberal let alone a black liberal as President.
Time will tell if Dodd decides to run again, but all this blah blah talk so far is about Dodd vs a republican, is all bs. If Dodd deciides not to run, another Democrat will run and carry Ct.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want him replaced by that sleaze of a Republican. But the dude is corrupt as hell, and I sure would like to see a new (better) Democrat takes his place. Plus, 8 terms? Can we all say term limits?

When I hear Republican Party, I think of Sean Hannity (community college dropout and construction worker), Rush Limbaugh (college freshman flunk out and drug addled gas bag), Bill Orally (sexual abuser to his fellow employee), Glenn Beck (active alcoholic and drug addict), Ann Coulter ([Deleted-Sitemonitor] and wingnut)...these are what the GOP is represented by. Throw in GW Boosh and Dick Cheney and KKKarl Rove and this is quite a crew of wingnuts. That should say a bunch about the 28% of Americans who defend them.

That Oreilly and Hannity are asshats is besides the point. Dodd has shown his true, corrupt colors and needs to be replaced.
Nobody wants a republican senator in CT but Dodd has outlived his usefulness.
by not appearing with Hannity at all. I'll be disappointed if he does. Not saying I want anyone to beat Dodd in the next election, mind you, but the opposition really needs more people with higher standards of civility. I know Kudlow isn't popular in this corner of the blogosphere but at least he's friendly with folks like Robert Reich, Jared Bernstein and Charlie Rangel, and welcomes the substance of their contributions.
I am amazed that no one thinks that what Chris Dodd did, or is doing is a bad thing? So that just proves my theory about politics and business, to move up in either one you have to be a slimy cheating uncaring selfish money grubbing two faced weasel. I'm finishing by business degree, and now I know how to move up in American business, that is if there will be an American business when I graduate. Actually the government is hiring, I probably have a better chance at being a volunteer and having the government pay for the rest of my collage. Sweet!! I can't wait to get out there and make some money and not pay my taxes, unless I decide to be a part of the presidential cabinet, then I have to pay my taxes after they find out I "made a mistake with TurboTax" which is kinda hard to do because TurboTax "guarantee no mistakes".
