As Herman Cain's "campaign" descends further and further into self-parody what were once seen as amusing lapses just become yet more dispiriting evidence that Cain is not a serious candidate for anything, as Rachel Maddow continues to document.

From this morning's Daily Rundown, Chris Cilliza notes the similarity of Herman Cain's speech with President Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Simpson's Movie.

I love Maddow's take on Cain, he's an art project, just no one has caught on yet :)

Manchurian candidate? Heck no! Parody candidate :)

Everything about him is comedy. At noon on our local show they showed a clip of Cain being interviewed by someone and when they asked him how it would feel to be sworn in as president of the United States he went all Boehner and cried. He seemed to be overcome by the thought. I was overcome too, with laughter.

Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.

Me to it Bob, like our Rachel said............He's nothing but a performance art project, but judging by his performance,...... Fart, brain that is, is a more apt term.

The first casualty of republicanism is the truth.
Party politics are not only undemocratic, they are antidemocratic.

To be a good leader you should also be a good reader and writer as well. I did not realize that you had to choose between the two. Thinking back to the "W" years, we had a President who was none of the above and it showed.

Thank you. As an avid reader myself, I am continually dispirited by the deep strain of anti-intellectualism that runs through the American electorate. I don't think it's arguable when I add that it is mostly pronounced on the political right. The idea that someone understands a situation, before blindly acting or pronouncing on it, seems to be anathema to them.
