one of the best daily show segments ever...jon stewart is flawless here in interpreting nutjob teabagger beck...brilliant, thanks for posting!
I actually thought I was watching Glenn Beck. I had to double check to make sure I wasn't
BRILLIANT!!
emmy bait
That was the best. It kinda seemed like his audience wasn't getting it so much because they have probably never seen the mad man that is Beck.
... but then I showed her a real clip of Beck and she was mortified. I don't think people out there get the magnitude of the batshit crazy devolution the right is experiencing in this country.
It is just appalling, to say the least.
Appalling is right. My daughter and I often discuss the "regressive" nature of where we are headed instead of "progressive". Beck is proof positive of this trend.
... in a time of insanity. It still reassuring to see there are people in this country, which not only "get it" but can turn it around on them.
I wonder . . .
If we edited out the laughing, and then played the clip to members of Beck's audience, would they take this seriously?
Yes. These people also think that Colbert is a right winger.
It is one of the greatest jokes played by the Goddess of Irony.
how he came to deliver his Tour de Force performance at the White House Correspondents' Dinner in 2006...
I love Jon Stewart (and Stephen Colbert, too). I'm still laughing...
I must admit that sometimes, during cocktail hour (that's when Beck is on here in PA), I make a nice manhattan and get a few snacks and tune in to the Glen(n) Beck Show - just for laughs.
Really, Stewart is a much better Beck than Beck!!
you realize there are 4 million or so people out there that consider him to be a modern day prophet.... and then realize most of them are heavily armed and just as unstable as "the master".
that represents less than 2% of the population.
whenever they get all worked up about the BS that Fox airs. It helps keeping things in perspective.
... and they should. (It is increasingly harder to make us laugh) This would be pure comedy gold.
Hats off to Jon and his crew.
Sad that some folks take someone like Beck seriously but absolute top drawer comedy from Jon and TDS (as always)
Love it!
Paranoia
Definition:
Paranoia is an unfounded or exaggerated distrust of others, sometimes reaching delusional proportions. Paranoid individuals constantly suspect the motives of those around them, and believe that certain individuals, or people in general, are "out to get them."
Description:
Paranoid perceptions and behavior may appear as features of a number of mental illnesses, including depression and dementia, but are most prominent in three types of psychological disorders: paranoid schizophrenia, delusional disorder (persecutory type), and paranoid personality disorder (PPD).
Individuals with paranoid schizophrenia and persecutory delusional disorder experience what is known as persecutory delusions: an irrational, yet unshakable, belief that someone is plotting against them. Persecutory delusions in paranoid schizophrenia are bizarre, sometimes grandiose, and often accompanied by auditory hallucinations. Delusions experienced by individuals with delusional disorder are more plausible than those experienced by paranoid schizophrenics; not bizarre, though still unjustified. Individuals with delusional disorder may seem offbeat or quirky rather than mentally ill, and, as such, may never seek treatment.
Persons with paranoid personality disorder tend to be self-centered, self-important, defensive, and emotionally distant. Their paranoia manifests itself in constant suspicions rather than full-blown delusions. The disorder often impedes social and personal relationships and career advancement. Some individuals with PPD are described as "litigious," as they are constantly initiating frivolous law suits. PPD is more common in men than in women, and typically begins in early adulthood.
Jon Stewart + Family Guy + Frontline = All the reasons to still own a TV
and that is pretty much the extent of my TV watching. ;-)
Bill Moyers Journal.
Remove Family Guy from the equation.
as is anyone who can figure out a way to make seriou$ jack in an economy like this. Shrewd operator.
Snakeoil salesmen have always done best selling to people under stress.
And the Computer Monitors also.
Everybody has the answers!
Seed kit to feed your family when the economy finally gives out and totally collapses.
Absolutely Brilliant!
next week cheer-leading about how we have the greatest health care in the world and Obama Care is going to lead us down the road to perdition.
Five Star service . . good lookin' nurses, the food was excellent, plasma TV . . private suite . .

Comedy Gold!
Try not to laugh at this.
but not very far from the real thing is it?
Words for words, Jon took about 90% of Glenn speech! Makes even more of a brilliant sketch. Jon also nailed down many of the hand gesture along the way.
One of his finest!
I would give anything to see Glenn's reaction!
Absolutely brilliant.
I love the reference to Dr. Strangelove on the chalkboard. "Purity of Essence". LOL
I think there is even a Feynman diagram on there!
POE reference was outstanding. It's nice to know there's a few of us out there still.
Peace on Earth.
I only drink grain alcohol and distilled water, or rain water. No fluoride in Glenn Beck or me. Recall the bombers, if you can. The CRM-114 discriminator will know the truth!
And did you know that Glenn beck played Lt. Kivel in Dr. Strangelove?
Follow the connections, people!
I think we should rally around the "11/3" movement and insist that Glenn Beck's internal organs be preserved, no matter how bad they get.
NO MORE SURGERY! NO MORE SURGERY!
guess which marxists are coming to dinner?
the Doctor is in ...

Freedom to Glenn's colon!
This was hysterical! After seeing the show last night, I woke up and found a clip of it on the huffington post. I went straight to the comments which were so funny that I ended up watching it again and laughing to the point of tears. My favorite was "11 Principals, 3 Herbs and spices" And the chalkboard was filled with such hysterical references that each time you watched it, you saw something else. Spot on with the glasses and mannerisims!
That, and when Jon said, "at least I have the courage to point out what other people won't" (or something like that)
That's Beck's whole attitude, but it's not hard to drum up the courage to say those things if you're delusional, and your sources of information are the voices in your head...
Bravo Jon!
Just when you think Colbert is getting the upper comedic hand - Stewart unleashes this finely nuanced uproarious segment and creates a whole new landscape. All in character as well, haven't seen Jon stay in a character this long since death to smoochy.
..that they can "connect to the logic" of such a total clown as glen hemrhoid beck. We've all seen them...they are "proud" to be followers of this total dumb ass hole...and this worthless shit bag is making MILLIONS off his destructive clown act.
A sad day for America when we have people who willingly and even proudly follow such an ass hat. We have really sunk low in this country.
... is today's P. T. Barnum.
It's like he was channeling beck from beyond the grave.
The Onion produced another winner, though some are getting pissy about it:
http://www.theonion.com/content/video/victim_...
"Victim in fatal car accident was tragically not Glenn Beck"
F'em if they can't take it.
Golden.
I WORSHIP AT THE ALTAR OF STEWART!!
One of the shows best.
Unfortunately it was a little too good - kind of as disturbing as watching the original.
Alas I might have been able to enjoy this a little more if I wasn't living with someone who regularly backs up their assertions with this kind of logic. There should be something called logical analysis impairment disorder, then making fun of it wouldn't be cool and they'd have to leave poor Glenn Beck alone.
No idea that Stewart was such a good physical mimic.
