Neil Cavuto had controversial talk show host Don Imus (we know what happened) on because Imus is a close friend of McCain and is pulling for him hard to win, but said that McCain was really grumpy when he interviewed him earlier in the day and sounded like a completely different man.

"It was like 180 degrees from the guy I'd ever talk to."

He also said McCain sent in Palin ill prepared to answer questions to Katy and Charles. Imus wasn't attacking Obama and said he probably would make a good President. Cavuto kept trying to say that he was going to tax Don to death and strip away the fairness doctrine, but Imus didn't care at all.

Cavuto agreed to McCain's grumpiness and as their interview closed, Imus said this:

Imus: If it's close it'll be the Bradley effect...., but I hope it's not decided that way and I hope the best guy wins. And I'm going to vote for John McCain and I'd ask everybody else to. I really do think he has the potential to be a great President and we'll just hope he doesn't die.

Alright, on that upbeat note. Don Imus thank you very much

So for all the wingers that get upset when McCain's age is brought up, even his friend Imus is joking about it.

Here's the earlier interview with Imus and McCain that he referenced McCain's grumpiness which was on WABC.

I've never been a fan of Katie Couric, but . . . a rodent? Why do people continue to listen to Imus?

By the way, did any one catch the Duekmejian campaigner's claim that there was no Bradley Effect?

Another myth cooked up. Apparently, there was a scandal that broke just before Bradley's election that most likely contributed to his election's outcome. Pundits have also pointed out that when Obama's been elected, there is no sign of any sort of "bradley effect." I'm sick to death of hearing about it. It's now a righwing talking point because they SO hope it's true.

Apparently it's so bad in Florida that the McCain campaign is having to pay all their volunteers in order to get any support:

Everyone keeps talking about "The Bradley Effect", but the fact is, it doesn't exist.

The truth can be heard on NPR's On The Media:

Shoulda read your comment first :)

Great link. Thanks.

that anyone would vote for a grumpy, ill old man who still hasn't given any concrete platform or plans for his administration. All he does is attack Obama and offer nothing. I'm glad Imus said he's grumpy but he also told everyone to vote for McCain.

I guess that's your only choice when you're a true believer.

Imus is calling McSame grumpy?? That's a laugh. Calling another news media person a rodent is a bit low considering the status of Imus. Racist disgusting pig of a man.

Why does anyone listen to him is beyond me.

One small correction: Imus did not call another news media person a rodent. He called a news media person a rodent.

Well if McCain should pass away his people will say that it wouldn't have happened if Obama had agreed to do ten town hall meetings with McCain during the campaign.

:)

LOL!

Yeah, just think how things would have been...

I wouldn't be so concerned about Mc Shame dropping dead, actually, your so called Neocon party died from an overdose of greed and selfishness and rigor mortis is setting in. Maybe dupes like you and Imus will get over yourselves and help guide the Repubs down a more redemptive path. I doubt if you will, for Neocons it's just easier to avoid accountability by blaming others.

Have fun being marginalized, suckers.

We may have one no matter who we elect.

Here from September 15, 2008 Paul Krugman is interviewed by Keith Olbermann in what should be a classic.

The interview is after the Lehmann Brothers debacle but before:

1) the Great Bailout and

2) Greenspan shrugged because he now has found a flaw in his ideology.

Krugman puts the horse collar for our economic crisis squarely on Greenspan and Phil Gramm.

About Hank Paulson for whom he expresses some sympathy Krugman says:

'The Cossack works for the Czar'. My question is which is which?

About McCain, Krugman express his own amazement at his quoting Herbert Hoover.

It is generally thought that McCain would have Phil Gramm as Secretary of the Treasury.

In this Olbermann interview best of all to my mind at 3:56 going forward is where Krugman says this:

'Ben Bernanke and I think Hank Paulson understand we could manage to have another Great Depression if we work at it hard enough - I think Phil Gramm might just be the guy to do it.'

Whoever is in the Oval Office on January 21, 2009 is going to have a mountain of Ca Ca to deal with.

What makes you think Imus was joking when he hoped McCain wouldn't die, the inference being Palin sucks?

That's the way I took it too.

Imus and Lieberman before him...if McCain kicks we will be saddled with Psychobarbie. What else COULD they mean? The both profess a love for McCain. What's with the 'evil eye' talk otherwise?

FilthyHarry:

What makes you think Imus was joking when he hoped McCain wouldn't die, the inference being Palin sucks?

Oh, I think C&L knows that that's what he meant. I think they meant "joking" as in "lightheartedly alluding to" McCain's age, as though it weren't all that serious of a topic.

Problem is, it's deadly serious.

Imus is still a dipshit of the highest order, but that's pretty funny.
No doubt that's what he meant.

Whadda ray of rancid sushine he is, what?

i got through it... actually, he asked good questions... which would explain why grampy was grumpy sounding... BUT - it was much easier to LISTEN to him without having to WATCH him too...

good thin we have the video these days...

...and strip away the fairness doctrine

Did Neil mean to say bring the fairness doctorine back?

That surely sent shivers down both's spines.

If Cavuto said "strip away the Fairness Doctrine," he must have meant "reinstitute the Fairness Doctrine." Ronald Reagan's FCC did away with it in the late 1980s. This led to the rise of the Right Wing media, such as Rush Limbaugh and Cavuto's own Fox News, which, ironically, were no longer constrained by the Fairness Doctrine's requirement to be "fair and balanced" in the presentation of public policy issues.

Shorter Imus: Vote for McSenile, and pray he doesn't die.

than he's grumpy....for that is coming from the grumpiest racist in all the world

anyone wanna take bets as to who dies first, mccain or imus?

my money is on imus

what an asshat

couric and gibson were hatchet jobs? please

She asked her questions like what her favorite newspapers and magazines are? My god; anybody could answer that question. She could of even said her local hometown paper and that would of been a legitimate answer. Why would Palin even need to be prepped for such a dumbed down question.

The answer is as simple as Palin.

Seriously gotta agree with you on that. Those were the kinds of questions that anyone with a passing interest in the news should have handled easily!

Is this the same Don Imus that every single host on Fox News once tried to convince America was a Liberal, simply because he appeared on MSNBC? Gee, wouldn't that make them liars???

Imus, a senile old fart just re-enforced why I have no interest in listening to him or his favorite old fart candidate:

"I'm gonna vote for John McCain...he'll make a great president, and I hope he doesn't die"

My God, what a ringing endorsement!

I can't stand the guy. His brain is the size of a walnut and his mouth is the size of the Mississippi.

Horrible little man. Who let this pig back on Radio?

One has-been fucker criticizing another...they both can eat shit with chop sticks.

..............

She wasn't properly "prepped" to answer the question of what newspapers she reads?

WTF?

Couric threw her softballs at best.
