As if she's not creepy enough with some normal lighting, Michelle Bachmann was another victim of a video screen being filmed in low light at the Right Online bloggers conference. I always thought Michelle might be from another planet. She looked like she was broadcasting from one here.
I hope he gives her a brain first.

The sad thing is there will always be people who think like this. You can't say they reason because they think in an exceedingly narrow way and are only able to process certain type of Ayn Rand thoughts on reality. They are controlled by their insecurities, paranoia, self-interests, and they desperately want to preserve the status quo because they are scared shitless of change, any kind of change. If they were able to use reason to think through any problem, they would be able to see how even they would benefit from some forms of change in health care reform, business regulatory reform, civil rights reform, etc.. Everyone would benefit, including those who oppose such reforms. But, they can't see it, because they can only see and think in one very narrow way and it prevents them from being able to be rational or to be meaningful voices in public debate.
When ranting in the congress recently Michelle made references to the Hoot Smalley act ... Michelle is now in summer school trying her best to memorize new talking points. Michelle, you are a moron - its the Smoot Hawley act that raised tariff on imports. This can be looked up on the web any day. The question is, does Michelle know how to read?

Technically, the lighting problem is not one of low light (though Bachmann presents herself as a very dim bulb indeed). The problem is that the audience and the event are being lit and shot using tungsten lighting guides (warm lighting, around 2800 to 3600 kelvin), and projection, computer screens, etc., are generally generated in daylight color temperatures (5600-7300 kelvin). Daylight is blue, cold (short wavelength spectrum), believe it or not. Tungsten (normal indoor lighting) is on the warm (long wavelength spectrum). Shoot daylight with tungsten filters and you go blue. How many other ways can they screw up? Let's watch and see.
