If there was a misunderstanding of said 'target map', why did Palin's camp not refute that 'intention' at that time? Secondly, why did no one involved with Gifford's interview, at that time, challenge her interpretation & remark that this was supposed to be a map with 'surveyor's symbols'?
Point...subsequent tweets/postings from Palin, after her 'target map' was introduced on the internet, used such words as 'reload' and 'bullseye' to reference said website. No such terms are used by surveyors in reference to their symbols.
Point...I don't know the timing, but shortly after the shootings...Palin's target map was removed. Now, let's be grownups here...there is just no pretending that if there was absolutely nothing wrong with Palin's 'target map', then said map would still be up, without any need for guilt or explanation.

As yet there is no evidence that Loughner knew anything about Sarah Palin or crosshairs. The operative phrase here is "as yet." The suspect is supposedly not talking but if he did the sheriff is in a better position to know what Loughner had to say than any pundit.

The assassin might have gotten his ideas from some other place, and not from Palin or Bachmann, or Beck, or someone else, but there is still a powerful lesson to be learned by these people, and by the M$M for not addressing the violent rhetoric by the wing-nuts. If the wing-nuts do not re-tool, then they are totally beyond hope. That much is for sure.

These pundits know in their bones that they've done a great job for the last two years. They always work hard and do a great job. They've internalized the values of the Village. I think the real denomination they consider is closer to $10,000 and multiples thereof, as in an hourly wage for a speech to a business group or something "charitable" like that.

Don't fall into the trap of thinking that these folk have doubts about what they are doing on a day to day basis. They pride themselves on being realists and professionals. Too bad they live in the Village hall of mirrors. That makes their "reality" and "professional standards" the opposite of what those terms might mean down here on the street.

After all Gabrielle Gifford specifically expressed her concerns about Palins "reload" comments and the gun crosshair on her district almost a year ago, March 25th 2010 on Meet The Press saying. "Our office corner has really become an area where the tea party movement congregates and the rhetoric is incredibly heated. this is a situation where people don't -- they really need to realize that rhetoric and firing people up and even things, for example, on sarah palin's targeted list. we have the crosshairs of a gunfight over our district. will people do that? We've got to realize there are consequences to that action."

Just so happen to have caught this CNN broadcast Saturday afternoon. The commentator asked if either thought that Palin's target map might have played a role in influencing the gunman and in perfect unison the two women exclaimed oh no, and shook their heads no in perfect sequence. Had it been a pairs sporting event I’m sure they would have scored a 10.
