Stephen Claims Lou Dobbs' Audience
From The Colbert Report:
In punditry, like in "Highlander," there can be only one Lou Dobbs, so Stephen claims his audience after he quits CNN.

Lou Dobbs isn't civil and he's done. It amazes me that with an audience of 7 somehow everyone has heard of the guy. My mother, may she rest in peace, would have chuckled at the news and would have roared at Stephen.

U.S. Deports Lou Dobbs - CNN Host Had Been Living Illegally In Country Since 1961
Democracy is too important to be entrusted to politicians.
Rise Up!
Protest!
The left, the blogs, and the rest of the demoralized folks that make up progressives haven't been able to force the government to end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
They haven't been able to pressure the administration to end the practice of rendition and detention without trial.
They haven't been able to pressure a democratic house to produce a bill that doesn't impact negatively on the rights of women - or to provide a public option that would be universally available.
They haven't been able to get the administration to work to gut and reverse the patriot act.
No matter.
They got Dobbs off CNN.
Two cheers. Pats on the back all 'round. Now for a round of golf.
... that "progressive" pressure must have nothing to do with the sacking of Dobbs, I am willing to be that liability and sinking rankings/ad revenue must have been the directives considered by CNN.
I think the left in this country is living in complete denial as to how completelly ineffective it has become. So they tend to "claim victory" for items which are fairly subjective and can't really be validated. Such as this "sacking." Heck I would think that a contract negotiation gone sour must have been more likely as a cause for him to walk.
Glenn Beck chortles when an administration appointee resigns presumably under pressure from Beck. Or at least that's the right-wing's take on things. Hey, if the Left is happy to see Dobb's leave and feels that their constant complaints - mainly justified - against his "reporting' play a role. So be it. If the Right can claim a dubious victory, so can the Left.
...any US soldier in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Is it possible to do some photo/film montage to portray exactly that??? would that be 'too offensive' to the US Troops??
I mean really, the Dutch have troops in Afghanistan.
When my sister came to visit here, saw those yellow ribbons magnets on cars, then when I explained: 'Support the Troops!!"....she just rolled her eyes, as I do just about any time I see those things.
Face it, our Troops there are not protecting our Freedom in any way. Even THEY don't know what they're doing there, besides occupying either Iraq or Afghanistan.
Again, let's face it. Our troops being there has absolutely NOTHING to do with our Freedom. They are there as an occupational force to ..well, look at the actions of the senior administration officials of the previous administration.
We are there to make money for them. Simple.
We spend, as an American Nation, so much more money to make a few people extremely rich, than we would EVER spend to take care of our own people.
Now YOU tell me what's wrong with our country.
Some are just NOW getting the idea that Colbert is spoofing them all?
lololol
Those SOME saw the lightning bolts and now feel their biggest advocate has been blessed by God Himself.
Well, that's one rightwing racist moron nutjob off of our air waves, only a bagillion more to go!
Trying to get these conservatard psychopath's off of our airwaves, is about as daunting a task as killing a cockroach infestation.
Rush Limbaugh is what a smart person thinks a stupid bigot sounds like.
function in nature, where as the same can not be said about the overall usefullnes or common benefit/good ever extracted from a any conservative blowhard.
Damn right!

come on everyone, we all know Dobbs is very shortly going to be hosting his racism over at Faux News
D
How soon will Dobbs be getting a time spot for FNC?
Because Name Recognition. Maybe he will take over for the Governator some day.
He will lose, and he will lose BIG! The guy's brain has become mush in the past few years, and everyone knows it. Only the loons would vote for him!
Subbing John King for Lou Dobbs may look on the face of it like a good wager, but if you look at King's past as an interviewer and his ladder-climbing ambitions, including an internecene marriage, he ain't a huge improvement. When King put neocons and Repub stooges on his early show he customarily gave them softballs. He and his horse-faced wife are climbers and media wonks without a clue in their heads to what's really going on. King will avoid the topic of immigration for a while or give it the soft peddle, but nothing much else will change.

The only way for CNN to climb back up the ratings ladder is for the guy at the top to be removed. He is BAD for the network, and the ratings show it. Since John King took over the Sunday slot, I stopped watching. Wolf Blitzer was bad, but John King is much worse. They need an entire "do-over" at CNN!
