Real Time's Real Reporter Dana Gould goes from a town hall protest with angry right wingers carrying Obama is Hitler signs and mad as hell, to a Remote Area Medical clinic, where the people waiting in line were polite and hopeful. Gould's response at the end of the segment is priceless, and not safe for work.

That's what I call "fair and balanced" reporting. Dana didn't just report one side of the town hall meeting. He reported both sides and then took it a step further to find out something about the person that held these views. The comparison was....priceless. I wish more reporters did this. We need to hear both sides in the same report. Balanced reporting from both sides during one report would do a lot to help this country heal.

Here in Texas local news they're less likely to carry a REmote Area Medical (REAM?) Patients story, or Doctors Without Borders in our own country for a Medical Fair than yet another gun show.
REAM is the republican healthcare plan. IE: "Bend over and get reamed by the insurance corps."

I was struck how MSNBC went from its coverage/discussion of the Montana town hall right to extensive coverage of the crowds of people still lined up outside/inside the LA Forum for the "free" emergency health care.
I wouldhave liked to have seen NBC or ABC Nightly News sort of do likewise, as it really put the human face (or thousands of faces) into perspective.
I wonder why Obama hasn't mentioned the LA scene (soon to be repeated in a couple of other major urban areas). And a little reminder that the charity group behind this originallly started the "doctors without frontiers" style program to serve people in third=world countries.

Never do during the day. And the only time in prime-time is when Obama delivers a major speech, and requests it be carried.

most employer based health care programs do not cover dental care...and dentists across the southland have been increasing the cost of even a simple cleaning...try and find anything under 100 bux
however, in regards eye care, there are tons of discount places that will give you an exam and glasses under 50

This small group of people he speaks of likes it the way it is, they run the health care, and everything else. If they loose control, they won't be able to decide who gets what and how much. They like deciding for them selves who stays healthy, who has nice teeth, who gets high paying kush jobs, who gets educations. If they can't decide these things then just any common person would have a chance, even non church people might be able to be healthy and have credit.
They decide a small group of powerfull "IN" people. I am not saying they have full control over the population, some do fall threw the cracks, some do get a nice life, some do escape the ruling classes oppresion.

The put this particular Remote Area Medical Clinic in a little bit more of a perspective, what looked like a third world country was the parking lot of the Los Angeles Forum (as previously mentioned).
The Los Angeles Lakers played at the Forum right before they left to play at Staples Center. The forum is not that far away from some of the wealthiest cities and neighborhoods in the country.
for the life of me understand, why there is so much anger for the wrong reasons? People actually WANT an insurance company between themselves and their doctors? WTF is right! Why aren't these morons angry at the simple fact that they are not going to get any reform at all, just more political mumbo jumbo. I could understand people being for and against universal single payer healthcare, but that isn't what is being offered really by anybody, and yet they are mad as hell that their insurance company might not make as much profit or what?

This just makes me sad, I'm from the LA area (Compton) near Inglewood, and to see these ignorant, stupid people over in mostly white Alhambra with their Hitler signs contrasted with the people in the 'wood' is just upseting. You can bet that none of the people crying about Hitler knows even the most remote facts about who Hitler was or what he really believed. Their entire world view is based of of ideas of good and evil and so they see anything that they oppose as pure evil, period. That just makes them stupid.
