After listening to Joe Queenan chide him about the need to "let it go" with harping on Sarah Palin, Bill responds with his "clip" of how Fox News reacted to Obama's victory on election night. I'm still waiting for this to happen on Hannity's show before the next four years are over.

Need a FD to do that. Corporate interests are always considered first in any news story.
That's why right wing nutjob radio will stay viable in the future, even though their auduences are going to drop dramatically. Corporate interest must be legislated out.
"Just the facts ma'am, just the facts." And since facts have a librul' bias, conservatives have been editing them out for years.
As long as news outlets are owned by people who have their fingers in other pies (military, etc) we'll never get real news. The best you can hope for is slightly informative entertainment.
When biased reporting and ad sales can affect the financial situation of a corporate owners other interests the truth gets scooted out the back door.
I don't know that can ever be changed.

He's a very clever character, our next Prez... Earlier in primaries, he was part of the Democratic coalition of candidates who said NO to Fox News hosting a debate, claiming then that they are not a real news org. YAY!
but then, after much hounding from Bill OReilly for months -- after Bill sandbagged him at a campaign event and asked him would he appear on his show -- Obama indeed appeared on Bill's show for an interview. And as always Obama controlled the situation well, and knew how to disarm OReilly -- and he did masterfully.
So, Obama prob did that for 3 reasons: (a) to keep a track record as a man of his word, or (b) to keep O'Reilly from yak yak yakking about "Obama must be scared to face me.." etc. or (c) Obama was making his one gesture to the Fox audience to demonstrate that he is truly looking to run a "post-partisan" govt... (though I hate that bogus term "post-partisan" as a fairytale marketing term).
So, even though Obama the man must feel they are the scum of the earth, I think Obama will nonetheless "make nice" with Fox -- just to carryout Obama's goal to bridge America.
But for me? I wish he'd do just as you say: revoke any press credentials til they demonstrate they will be news people and not partisan hacks.
as to why Obama went on BillO. It had little to do with Orally catching him at an event and everything to do with political gain. It was a smart move on Obama's part for Fox viewers to see him in a hostile environment (and BillO wasn't exactly polite to the O man)...and Obama handled himself well. It was a two-fer. He got to get his message out (in his own words) and Fox viewers (who are voters, after all) could see he wasn't some kind of freak.
I think it was a smart move.
Who knows what the future holds, though. It will be fun as hell to watch tho. :D

anyway, i watched this today and was astonished. At first I thought that maybe Bill was showing a modified video, which was heightened to illustrate just how sophomoric and petty FoxNews was. I could not tell if those little firecracker graphics were the actual FixNews feed or what.
That was so disgusting... Like a high school news operation.
Not that any of it surprised me. nothing about fox surprises me.
But i don't understand Shep... Whenever I see these occasional clips of him -- from katrina, more recently with Ralph nader, I don;t understand where he fits into the Fox Culture. Is he normally "a Fox hack" with just occasional real-news tendencies, or is he more often than not the aberration from the norm there?
I'd like to know so I have a better basis for guaging what he;s all about. Based on his interview with Ralph Nader and Nader's uncle tom comment, it would seem that Shep would himself be ashamed of the way Fox News treated this historic moment of calling the election for Obama.
Re the Real Time show last night: For me it wasn't the strongest. As always there are great moments, but Howie mandel was a zero... The woman seemed like so many of this cast of people Bill draws from: half conservative, half liberal, or sometimes 100% conservative. There are 2 other African American women he has on from time to time who just are embarassing.
As for the guy who spoke, I don't know his background but bIll introduced him in a way that indicated Bill respects him a lot. Ididn't find his comments so off the mark... As usual I cared the most for Bill's own comments throughout.
No one else could make that show format work -- no one. So I hope Maher does it for 2 more decades! OR MORE

As for the Obama interview, it was nice to see someone actually ask President Elect Obama some hard questions that many of us would actually like the answer to instead of fawning and drooling all over him like CBS, NBC and ABC do. I, for one, think that when the day comes that you can't do that with someone running to represent this country then we are all in deep do-do. Scary when a regular citizen like Joe the Plumer can't ask an honest question without being totally discredited and tore down. What is up with that...are folks afraid of the answers or is it OK to critize Bush constantly and continually for 8 years but any question for Obama and you are going to be ripped into like a criminal...scary, truly scary. He got his fame for being stupid & a fraud, not for asking valid questions. I really didn't like either candidate much, but McCain came off mean-spirited & cranky. Oh yeah, I'm also a Vietnam Vet, but being a POW doesn't mean you'll be a good President. The only thing worse than BillO & Hannity is Rush. As for ratings, look at the ratings for Reality shows, just because they get good ratings doesn't automatically mean they are quality or true. There is more than right or left, black or white, whatever.
