Rachel Maddow and Ed Schultz Respond to Liz Cheney's 'Keep America Safe' Ad

Rachel Maddow and Ed Schultz both responded to Liz Cheney and Bill Kristol's new group Keep America Safe's ad, which accused them of being afraid to debate her. Rachel was polite as always and said Ms. Cheney is welcome on her show any time. Ed Schultz had some of his guests weigh in as well and was not so kind to Cheney. He questioned why she was qualified to work at the State Department in the first place and I think Bill Press' response was the most appropriate.
Press: You know what I think Ed? This was another balloon hoax. This whole thing is a total hoax, this Keep America Safe thing. It is. It's a total media creation. You're right about Liz Cheney. What about Bill Kristol? This is the guy that brought the country Dan Quayle and Sarah Palin—Bill Kristol—the one that wanted Bill Clinton to invade Iraq in 1997—what credentials—and I'm sorry Earnest, but the credentials of the people who represent the organization do say a lot about the organization. You’ve got Liz Cheney and Bill Kristol—neither of them know squat about security. And we’re supposed to believe them?

Her father was vice president on Sept. 11, 2001, the worst terrorist attack in US history. He didn't keep us very safe then, Liz! Obama has been in office longer than Bush-Cheney were when we were attacked and so far, there has been no terror attack. Plus he dealt very handily with the pirate issue and bin Laden is STILL at large. I doubt Liz Cheney will ever go on Rachael's or Ed's shows (Ed says he's asked her). Liz ought to go away before people keep reminding her how unsafe her father kept us on 9/11.

Why does the media pay attention to Liz Cheney, Bill Kristol or any of the other conservative doomsayers? It is as if alleged balance is more important than actual news. America is only as safe as it is and Liz Cheney saying it is unsafe doesn't make it so any more than her father's words of wisdom. And we know how safe his work made this country.

For the record, George W. Bush was inaugurated on January 20, 2001. Despite receiving a daily briefing entitled, "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in US," George W. Bush FAILED to keep America safe on September 11, 2001.
Barak H. Obama was inaugurated on January 20, 2009. September 11, 2009, has come and gone not just without 9/11/2001-size terrorist attacks, but without any terrorist attacks on U.S. soil. Period.
So far Obama is succeeding where Bush failed. So the people and the families of the people who were in charge of "keeping America safe" on September 11, 2001, have absolutely NO credibility to talk about keeping America safe.
