From Morning Joe, Pat Buchanan apparently wasn't too happy about Levi Johnston's criticism of his girlfriend Sarah Palin on the Today Show, where he said Palin resigned to cash in on her recent celebrity.
Buchanan: Well, first, with regard to Levi, I think First Dude up there in Alaska, Todd Palin, ought to take Levi down to the creek and hold his head underwater until the thrashing stops.
Mika made sure the audience knew that MSNBC does not advocate any violence against Levi Johnston before the segment was over. Way to stay classy Pat.

America is a VERY violent place, it is part of our culture and language. Read the verbal violence on this site, not to mention the violence we see and hear everyday from media. There were 855,000 aggravated assaults and 92,000 reported rapes last year. America was founded on violence. Football and hockey are controlled versions of pitched prehistoric battles.

Unfortunately (I do agree we've become more "appreciative" of violence as a nation lately), a lot of people will immediately think that Pat Buchanan is the one who ought to be taken down to the creek and have his head held underwater until the thrashing stops. There are mornings when you can turn from msnbc to fox and hear the almost exact conversation with the almost exact things said about the same topic. It's getting where the difference is minimum. Mika and Norah and Pat's love for and defense of Palin is more annoying than anything said about her these days on Fox. Joe Scarborough is a whole other matter. First, of all since Levi is the person who got to live in the Palin household I think he might have some insight about them. Since is not yet well schooled in media relations he might just let some gems slip out. I am all for letting him talk. And talk again and talk some more.
Second, why is it OK for Sarah to quit her job to make money and not OK for Levi to get some money too? After he's not as well-educated as Palin therefore he needs some money to pay for his baby so the Palins can stop calling him a deadbeat.

Oh, Patty Buchanan is nothing more than a whore. Literally. He will say whatever butters his bread. Why, I remember (only a month ago) when Patty couldn't stand Sarah Palin. But, as the month wore on, he began to like her more and more.
And I can remember when he ran for president (2000). Remember Florida, where a lot of Jews accidentally voted for Buchanan, even though he was violently anti-Semitic, because the voting card was so screwed up? Yes, the first few days after that, he laughed on air, saying OF COURSE they didn't mean to vote for him. But in the days and weeks ahead, things changed. Am I the only one who finds this totally bizarre? The Today Show interviews this 19 year old because he knocked up the governor's daughter. He's even more of an ignoramous than Sarah Palin herself.
As for MSNBC - I think it would be nice if we could actually watch JUST SOME PLAIN news once in a while - no commentary - no bias. Infotainment and commentary should be labeled as such. NEWS should be FACTS! FACTS are truths.
