As we already reported here, the Department of Health and Human Services recently announced that insurance companies would now be required to cover women's health care services such as birth control and breast exams, among others with no co-pay. Apparently that didn't sit too well with Fox's Bill O'Reilly and his guest, Lou Dobbs.

Heaven forbid that women are going to have easier access to birth control and in O'Reilly's world, that somehow might bankrupt the poor little old insurance companies who just aren't making enough profits while figuring out ways to deny coverage to their sick customers already. I'd like to know if either of these two clowns were ever opining over whether insurance companies were covering things like Viagra, which my insurance does, while they do not pay for birth control pills, or they didn't before this ruling went through. I guess I'll find out with my next trip to the pharmacy.

You tell me what's better for their bottom line. Helping men to get women pregnant by helping them to have more sex, or preventing unwanted pregnancies and that same company paying to insure the children that are on that same insurance plan after a woman gets pregnant, or for the costs of covering just one pregnancy in the first place, especially if heaven forbid anything goes wrong during that pregnancy.

Someone needs to put these two sexist relics out to pasture, but unfortunately for all of us, I don't imagine Fox or their sister channel, Fox Business that now employs Dobbs to do that any time soon.

I thought Dobbs was terrible at CNN once he went over the cliff with his bashing of undocumented immigrants and then turning full birther as well. Unfortunately Fox employing him has just made him even worse with just looking like an angry old man who's full of hatred instead of pretending to care about the middle class as he used to do at CNN.

h/t Media Matters who have more links on Fox at their post and their madness on heaven forbid birth control being offered at no cost for women lucky enough to have health insurance.

men could get pregnant, I guarantee there would be no need for birth control pills.

So until they can experience the entire health cycle of a woman they really should just STFU and say thank you every time a woman spreads her legs for them.

While these to old farts are at it, they should thank their Health Insurance for covering Viagra so they can have a choice over the use of their reproductive organs. Even though O'Reilly's wife apparently prefers her vibrator I'm assuming he wants his flaccid vienna sausage to hold firm when he's dished out $20 for a Thai hooker.

And, while it won't do any good since these guys don't understand facts that are outside of their black & white world, birth control pills are used for many reasons beyond letting girls be sluts. My lovely girlfriend is on it even though I had my plumbing snipped (kids are not a part of life I ever cared to be responsible for). She was prescribed it to regulate her cycle. That's just one of many reasons to be on the pill. Though, the main reason I'm glad the pill is around is so poor young girls trapped in the sex trade industry aren't impregnated with O'Reilly's spawn.

Bitch, bitch, bitch. It's all they ever do over at Rupert Murdoch's hacking and propaganda channel. If haters and bigots didn't enjoy each others company the FOX Murdoch channel would be off the air by now.

Having a woman's birth control paid for is perhaps the surest way of "getting some" in the long run than just about anything else. Except, I guess, in the case of O'really and Blobs, who probably use rufies and Boones Farm Strawberry wine.

billo, you and limpballs get your viagra covered by insurance,
to keep your limp, limp, limp naughty bits up. viagra does not
help either one of you since the two of you are like twinkies
without cream filling.

Rather than forecast the future, we should work to secure it. More than two in five pregnancies worldwide are unintended by the women who experience them, and half or more of these pregnancies result in births that spur continued population growth. Clearly there is vast potential to slow that growth through something women want and need: the capacity to decide for themselves when to become pregnant. If all women had this capacity, survey data affirm, average global childbearing would immediately fall below the "replacement fertility" value of slightly more than two children per woman. Population would immediately move onto a path leading to a peak followed by a gradual decline, possibly well before 2050.

Despite the obvious barriers to women's rights in today's world, such a vision rests on a set of straightforward and achievable conditions: Women must be able to make their own decisions free from fear of coercion or pressure from partners, family, and society. They must not depend on prolific motherhood for social approval and self-esteem. And they must have easy access to a range of safe, effective, and affordable contraceptive methods and the information and counseling needed to use them. ..

Not soon enough!

and enabling women around the globe to have access to health education, birth control and good medical care and some measure of control over their lives would be a really good start.

And, in order for those things to happen we have to work to stamp out all paternalistic religions - or, at the very least, amend the notions that males are are entitled to dominion over females.....in the human race.

Actually, roughly least half of all pregnancies result in a failure to reach viability a.k.a. spontaneous abortion. Sometimes a fertilized egg fails to implant. Other times, there are genetic defects in the sperm or egg that are so severe the embryo barely makes it out of the blastocyst stage. The vast majority of these spontaneous abortions occur so early that the woman doesn't even realize that a pregnancy had begun. But I guess if you're religious, you consider that "divine will". Maybe that's better on religious sensibilities than considering your deity the most active abortionist of all time.

Is Lou Dobbs taking over for Dick Morris as the most irrelevant guest on Faux?

Ha Ha look at old Dobbs and old O'Fullashit two withered nuts in a drooping withered sack (scrotum). Fox tosses one nut (Becky) and has to replace it with another nut (Dobbs). Fox is the Tea Scrotum Network. Their sack is balanced again. They're so old that sack is full of dust.

Talking just to hear themselves ramble on, not an intelligent thought between the two of them. And Dobbs, he needs to go back to his comfortable sofa and get some rest.

this is a real spectacle. TWO OLD CODGERS who don't have menses and who will now have a baby, are the experts on birth control?? Really, this is ridiculous and funny, if it wasn't so pathetic.

Not that, I'm sure, they feel any obligation to be consistent, but aren't Dobbs and O'Reilly and their followers the same sanctimonious jerks who are the first to rail at poor people for having "welfare babies"?

Vaigra...Not that they would have a chance to use it without coercion but old men like to dream!

JustMyWords's picture

Cause, you know, those women should just never, ever ever have sex. Then they wouldn't need birth control OR have welfare babies.
