From The McLaughlin Group March 27, 2009.

McLaughlin: Question. Are these bailouts sufficient to restore the economy I ask you Monica?

Crowley: No because you put out a consecutive list of companies, institutions, sectors that have required some money over the last couple of months. In just about every single one of those cases there was a redundancy there. AIG coming back. The auto industry coming back. What we have poured into all of these sectors has not nearly been enough and it will not be enough. This is like spitting into the ocean. It's not going to be enough to restore the economy and if we keep going down the path of having the government jackboot on the private sector, the private sector which will be the engine of this growth (crosstalk).

Clift: The government jackboot on the private sector...uh the private sector had its jackboots on American taxpayers for a good long while and we had companies like AIG basically operating like a hedge fund selling a little insurance on the side. And it is totally appropriate that we now try to get a handle on the new financial world that is...it's a titanic struggle between the Treasury Department and the financial community and who's going to run the economy.

It evolves into one of the typical shout fests The McLaughlin Group is known for. All but John McLaughlin and Monica Crowley on the panel agree that there needs to be some government regulation over these investment companies and hedge funds.

McLaughlin and Crowley both think the free market should rule at all times. Circumstances be damned and let the buyer beware. Crowley also said that the FDIC didn't do its job. Later in the show Eleanor Clift pointed out the flaw in that argument, as in they didn't have jurisdiction or they may have come in already and seized some of these companies. Somehow I doubt that will stop Crowley from repeating the line the next time she's on Fox News.

Monica just pines for the good old days when government bailouts had no strings attached and corporate accountability didn't exist. Those were the days!

I just pine for the Good old Monica days when all we had to worry about was stained blue dresses.

yeah seems like only last week!

... when did they start calling it 'jackboot'?

I think Monica's projecting again.

I'd do 'er. Listen to her opinions? Not so much.

But I'd do my darnedest to make sure I pleasured myself while DISpleasing her - like a dry ass pounding or a doggy-style with my foot on her head.

Sometimes you gotta put your foot down.

Sure I never agreed with Ms. Crowley, but ever since she was raging on the Canadian military, she lost all street cred in my book. She should either enlist or find a job in which her rantings are more welcome...
... Oh, sorry. The McLaughlin Group sorta fits.

.

)O(

Uh no...the jackboots are these enormous CEO bonuses that they get whether the corporations fails or not.

should jack a boot in that dumb ****s mouth. Repeatedly.

I'm ok with Crowley and McLaughlin saying the free market forces should dictate everything but I don't want to hear ANYTHING about saving their sorry asses when it doesn't work out. Personally I was on the fence about the bail out. If we were to do the 'free market thing' then let these companies fail....all the way. Let the market shore itself up on its own and let's have no talk of bolstering the economy with tax payer dollars.

This woman is an idiot. Wasn't she laughing at the Canadians for wanting to leave Afganistan? What does she know about economics...except for republican talking points. She was also a huge supporter of the Bush Administration.

... are like babies throwing temper tantrums. They scream, they cry, and eventually someone gives them a cookie.

And, just like spoiled children, they continue to act up.

IF we truly were living in a "free market" world, people like Monica Crowley would have never ever attained any sort of credibility. Mostly due to their piss poor performance, subpar education, and plain lack of professionalism.

I certainly don't feel like being lectured about the "free market" by the same people who have benefited their entire lives from loopholes and "shortcuts" on said "free market."

She predictably never says anything good concerning Obama...it makes no sense even asking the woman questions because she'll just lie making stupid, negative comments. With Crowley, Buchanan and McLaughlin on that shitty show every week, I see no reason to watch The McLaughlin Group.

..Pat B. is bad enough but Crowley, as someone so astutely pointed out, is short on knowledge and long on talking points. Eleanor Clift, more often than not, expresses opinions and is just so rudely shouted down by the other people on the McLaughlin panel; its simply not a very good show. Bill Maher and Jon Stewart do a better job. David Gregory doesn't.

I used to watch The McLaughlin Group every Saturday evening. PBS is going to Hell.

)O(

I quit watching it(MG) years ago. This is the first time I've seen it in probably in 6 or 8 years. Nothing has changed.
I'm now looking toward never seeing it again.

Gotta go get my ears cleaned out.

jesuit dreams catch up to him?

Roman Catholic Church, and maybe Christianity as a whole.

I went to a Jesuit high school. If anything, the education I received is what makes me the 'liberal' I am today.

Me too.

Misssssssus Crowley[/Ozzy]

for Hee Haw reruns. Junior Sample is more relevant. More bang with Buck!

She is a blonde Sean Hannity. Every word she utters is a canned talking point.

until the stormtroopers start showing up at your door in the middle of the night, armed with giant bags of cash. Then you'll understand how badly these institutions have been mistreated. Can you imagine the horror of your mistakes and debts being "disappeared" in the middle of the night? We should all learn to have a little more sympathy for these poor souls...

the bailouts should be a jackboot, or more like training wheels applied to your harley davidson. if you get government money you agree to fly coach, stay in motel 6, and your office gets furnished with stock items from office depot. your executive salaries get cut to $75k/year and you have to punch a clock. when your company pays back the money, you can have it your way again. if you do not take the money and your company goes down you're criminally liable for the fallout. this stuff is simpler than everyone wants to make it out to be.

Now wait a minute! Are you saying these people should take responsibility for their own behavior?!?!

Are you a commie or something?

if she really wanted to make a point...she'd show us her tits.

The Mindless Babble Group would be a better name for that show.

Loud vs louder.

fixation-addiction to TV personalities.

... thinking.

"And now, here's our (subject) analyst to tell us what it all means."

"...what it all means...and these are her breasts."

Pinky and the Brain called it the McLoudness group.

The episode somehow turned into Elvis loving, aliens from outerspace fearin', political whackodoodles in cabins, and ends with President Clinton having to give up his office to Joyce DeWitt.

They don't have that on Youtube, hope this'll do:

I'm sorry, but Monica Crowley has proven over and over and over she has no clue about reality on the streets.

IF, as she advocates, the private sector should be the sole determinant of what happens to banks (Citi and B of A, etc) and other large companies like GM and Chrysler then ALL of them would have FAILED. The US would probably be in a depression worse than we've ever had in the history of this country and unemployment would probably be approaching 50%.

She clearly has no understanding of WHY and HOW the financial sector got in so much trouble (nor does she seem to care) and what effect it has on the country/world as a whole. She seems to care little about the ramifications of this global meltdown since it doesn't fit in the NeoNut talking point scheme of things.

If people like her continue to have a forum to spew their nonsense some are going to continue to listen. THAT'S scary since most folks with an IQ lower than an orange generate more lunacy these days than rationale people care to deal with...then they get violent and lose all their marbles...

from overdoses of Ruby Tuesday fry-max and melted cheese.

People of her ilk have enough to stay sheltered from the masses. They got theirs and really need no more. You think other third world countries like ours care about anything but the wealthy.
They only keep an eye on liberals and revolutionaries.

Indeed, the pharma / insurance / energy sector / finance sector / military industrial sector jackboots are sooooo much more desirable.

Wait-The McLaughlin Group is still on the air?

Said the Aryan Superman wannabe.

Watching this total NUTFEST makes me wish that American talk shows could be as intelligent and coherent as BBC's Question Time...

when Monica bitches about Obama NOT bailing out the auto companies...is she gonna get called on her hypocrisy. Hmmm...probably not so much.

And where are all the trolls, xians and Randians today?

Licking their wounds over seeing how capitalism REALLY works?

Hmmm..I wonder if all those libertarian auto company workers are queing up at the unemployment office for their "government handout".

... union workers at an unemployment office?

)O(

Is this how moanica looks when she puts on jackboots?

http://silencedmajority.blogs.com/photos/unca...

She's an a**hole. I'll never forgive her for smirking and simpering her way through the Red Eye show that slagged the Cdn troops. Her appalling lack of judgement there taints her for good. She probably supplements her income using jackboots.

Even the other guest who is an Economicist knew Monica didn't know what she was talking about. She's doing her best to keep a job as she is clueless to Economics. This topic is over her head and shows she doesn't read much. Now the highlight was when Monica announced for George Clooney to call her. As if he's that bad off and would settle for one of the lowest females. Monica knows the clock is ticking and she is now more interesting in looking for a husband then topics to discuss. Uncle Tim Stevens might be looking for a not so young woman as Sarah is looking old these days. I guess with the Madoff scam and the Recession the rich old men aren't looking these days as times are ruff for Monica. She might try calling Ashley Dupree for some advice in these hard times.

is beginning to sound like Chinese Water Torture to her.

)O(

And maybe when you're a big girl you can do this too:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihuQFnuxhkY

In her mind it would be okay to let the banks fail ? We would have no Citi, no AIG, and a laundry list of other banks. They would take how many people's money with them? And if they failed, would the government then reimburse all the people that lost money when the banks went away?

Government is only good when they get something out of it. Nothing more than greed and it is greed that got us into this mess.

she has rendered the show unwatchable. Her willful paritsan ignorance of circumstances allows her to craft no-win situations out of the mess her comrades in ideology left for Obama. Craft legislation to regulate the financial industry and you're a socialist. Let the financial industry collapse, and you're a socialist. The show was much better without her. She's an insult to intelligent viewers.

)O(

Partisan or Parisian?

I bet moanica's a courtesan.

Another typical example of a really Dumb, ignorant, Reslug bleach blond, that should go back to school and try real hard to educate herself.

Thanks for running ugly pictures of the reich-wing tools. It offers a smidgeon of consolation when dealing with the irretrievable stupidity of these butt-sniffers.
*

Have Monica Crowley and Jerry Seinfeld ever been seen together in the same room? I think she's got his poofy pirate shirt.

What's next, Monica? An eyepatch? Is she sending signals that she's a closet Pastafarian?

That really isn't a word that should be used in response to this flagrant wing nuttery. That woman doesn't think, she spews talking points without any ability to back them up in a logical debate.

)O(

I'll spare the ocean my spittle and apply it where it more rightfully belongs--in the faces of people like this ignorant nutcase.

Even in the short period I was watching it was going further and further stupidly right wing in it's membership - I watched them introduce rabid right-wingers as 'moderates' or even 'liberals' - I had to actually look people up to verify "No, it's *not* me - nowhere outside the McLaughlin Group are these people *not* considered right wing nuts."

The only use for the entire show is to ask people that consider Fox 'fair and balanced' and PBS 'Liberal cuckoo land' where exactly the fox show with a liberal 'moderator', three liberal guests (One of whom is presented as a conservative) and one actual conservative is.
