Lou Dobbs Wants to Know if His Viewers Would Like to Torture Someone

Lou Dobbs calls out Chuck Schumer for his waffling on whether Americans would accept torture being used in the phony ticking time bomb scenario. He then asks his audience to participate in an on line poll and asks whether they would "personally employ torture to save American lives and prevent an attack on this country?" And surprise, surprise...the overwhelming answer is...YES! Looks like all that fear mongering is paying off well for you. What's next Lou? You going to ask them if they'd like to shoot Mexicans to put an end to illegal immigration?
Go after Schumer or anyone else for their double talk on this issue, but asking Americans if they would participate in torture? Lou I hate to break it to you, but 24 is a television show. The ticking time bomb scenario doesn't happen in real life. And torture is illegal. You should not be pushing it as something acceptable in our society.

I wonder how many ordinary people could actually torture. People talk big but when it comes time to have a one on one, I'm sure there are some twisted people but hopefully most would back down when they had to take the responsibility of that persons pain.

It was how he fits the question to his viewers to answer more to his agenda. Everyone knows he is the same as O'Reilly and the other goons. How about if he asked the question like "Do you support torturing people to aquire false confessions?"

To be fair, Lou should include as a followup question:
If you or your loved one were in a foreign country and you/they were "suspected" as being involved in an attack in a foreign city, should you/they be tortured?
I think a lot depends on exactly how the question was put. If you knew with 100% certainty that torturing a person would save many lives, that's one thing. But in reality it's doubtful that torturing people is helping to save anyone.
Again..this is like vannity or bor doing a pole with such assinine, simplistic and black and white type polls. If we just torture...we'll save American lives. BULL SHIT!! MORONS!!
A country that deems torture as a necessity to saving itself doesn't deserve to be saved.

Recognize that the whole “Innocent until proven guilty” thing is important. If someone can be incarcerated, tortured, and killed because of what they MIGHT know, then ANYONE can be so treated – not just random brown people.
