Lou Dobbs Leaving CNN

So what's the next move for Lou Dobbs? Fox News? Dobbs announced tonight on his show that he has been released from his contract at CNN. From the NY Times--Update: Lou Dobbs to Quit CNN:
Lou Dobbs, the longtime CNN anchor whose anti-immigration views have made him a TV lightning rod, said Wednesday that he is leaving the cable news channel effective immediately.
“Some leaders in the media, politics and business have been urging me to go beyond my role here at CNN and engage in constructive problem-solving,” Mr. Dobbs said just after 7 p.m., suggesting that he would remain involved in the civic discourse, but perhaps not on television.
“I’m considering a number of options and directions,” Mr. Dobbs added.
Wednesday’s program will be his last on CNN, one of his employees said earlier in the evening.
Mr. Dobbs’ contract was not set to expire until the end of 2011. He told viewers that CNN had agreed to release him from his contract early.
Mr. Dobbs informed his staff members of his intentions in a meeting Wednesday afternoon, catching some of the staffers off-guard.
Well known for his political positions, Mr. Dobbs is an outlier at CNN, which has sought to position itself as a middle ground of sorts in the fractious cable news arena. The CNN employees said Wednesday that they did not know if Mr. Dobbs was moving to another network.

I read "Diplomat", "Diplomacy", "Health Care" & "Lost Jobs" in the background (I'm a conspiracy nutjob, I know. Really, Lou wasn't all that bad in the early days before he went insane.
Dobbs ignored the Bush transgressions as a strategic career move, conveniently concentrating on strictly business related news. He only began to mildly criticize President Jack the Ripper after the tsunami of faultfinding flooded that sorry fucker.
If you read this, ole' Lou was a good reporter with a sense of humor in the 70's when he worked for two of Seattle's best TV stations, KING and then KIRO. He was a Metro reporter and did common interest stories.
He left Seattle in 1980 to go to work for startup CNN. His brain melted in 2000 and really went right and turned into a POS after 9/11.
My maiden great aunt ended up senile, muttering about Italian boys under her bed. Tres Freudian.

...the concept of pro-free market "populists". It's strange to me, but, from a historical perspective, unregulated capitalism cannot abide a middle class. A middle class is a socially engineered beastie, not naturally found in capitalist systems, save very small numbers in special positions of service to the upper class. Capitalism, by it's nature is unsustainable. Unless the middle class is allowed to form through regulation of business, it will not last. We are seeing this again today, as we did in the 80s; a vast transfer of shared wealth upwards, but now with a trend of skyrocketing costs of living.
Sorry to go OT, but I think it was better to have Lou where we could see him. Who knows what kind of damage he'll do once he settles into his Fox News offices? Or VP candidate on the Arpaio ticket. Or President Obama's "immigration czar"?
