Oh the horror! Lou Dobbs has his pants in a bunch over the potential appointment of a pro-union Secretary of Labor in the choice of Hilda Solis.

I really don't care whether labor's ecstatic. You know I saw business get ecstatic with Elaine Chao for the last eight years. I don't want to hear a constituency group. Is she a good choice?

And uh adios Elaine and hello Hilda. I don't know whether or not, who's going to be best served here but one thing you can be sure of. Again we're going to have a Labor Secretary at the bidding of one of the constituent interest groups. It's always good to have this opportunity every four years isn't it?

Heaven forbid workers organize so they can get decent wages, benefits and actually mandated rest breaks and lunches... Those CEOs need their jets!
I recently worked for 12/hour with Nothing but a 20 minute lunch break, running my ass off at break neck speed for a 9 hour shift. Maybe that's ok for somebody in their 20s but it was killing me. Our boss was taking advantage of us and we all quit! It really helped me see the benefit of unions. Maybe if there had been a union she would have listened to our complaints.
He's going to be a bitter whiner for the next 4 years. We already knew the only issue in which he makes any sense is outsourcing and protecting the middle class. But other than that if anything has to do with labor unions, the Spanish language, or environmental protection, Lou wants it destroyed.

I think the thing that would make me feel the best is to live to see most of the bush cabal tried and found guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Short of that something that would make me feel great is to see a lot of these talking asshats like Lou, and wolf, and cavuto, brokaw and the list goes on as far as I am concerned, I would love it if they lost their cushie jobs. It would be good for America to see these people get what they deserve!
DOBBS: She’s (Hilda Solis) an interesting choice. You know the odd thing is that it’s critical she is of me. We probably — we do agree on the issue of fair trade. We do agree on the importance of having a countervailing influence to run away corporate power. I mean, it’s sort of interesting.
But when she moves to the point of saying, as she did, that we are you know that we’re all legal, and all Americans, whether we are legalized or not, I mean that’s bizarre. And it’s going to be an interesting choice of labor secretary. But then again, you know, Elaine Chao (ph), the current labor secretary, has been nothing but a toady for multinationals and the Chamber of Commerce, so perhaps we have historic countervailing influences here with her nomination. What Dobbs opposes is her support of illegal immigrants over American Citizens in the labor market. A view most Americans can agree on and When Republicans like minded Democrats tried to push through their Amnesty program American workers protested so greatly that it shut down Congressional Switchboards and email to Senate and House.

After eight years of the Bush Administration and Chao decimating the ranks of organized labor, does Dobbs now magnanimously suggest the new Administration take an uncritical approach to what has occurred and let stand the decisions and regulations that are negatively affecting working conditions? What a tool.

The poor guy has gone stark raving mad, seeing them there illegal immigrants around every corner. Why, he's right ya know. Economic meltdown? Caused by immigrant bankers. Big 3 bankruptcy? Caused by immigrant labour in Canada and Mexico just not producin' enough cheap enough.
I turned on this discussion/harangue and watched only a few minutes of this, but what I heard was much worse than the bashing of Holis, much worse. Some bimbo was reporting on the $73.00 an hour myth and then comparing this total pay ($73.00 an hour) to "what Toyota workers make, $28.00"......and then she repeated this claim only a half a minute later in her back and forth with Dobbs.
This is total bullshit and they report this as fact.

I noted Dobbs allowing the $73.00 myth to pass on his show, and I thought to myself ... even if it were true (which it is not), I wonder if Lou works for less than $73.00 an hour. Bet your bottom dollar he believes he is worth the millions he is paid yearly for his labor.
Well, it is about time labor got a pro-labor secretary instead of one approved by the Chamber of Commerce and big business. What kind of country is it where the people have no representation in government anyway? I thought America was of the people, for the people, and by the people. The people are laborers ... we deserve representation!
Who watches Dobb's anymore?? I quit watching him a long time ago when he consistently kissed the Reslugs asses.
