Lobbyist Lanny Davis Won't Say Who's Paying Him
Lanny Davis receives a royal smackdown from Firedoglake's Jane Hamsher on The Ed Schultz Show. Jane asks Lanny Davis who he's working for and asks whether he'll personally benefit from the health care legislation and leaves Davis stammering and stuttering and never saying who is paying him. The best he can come back at her with is to criticize her for posting a picture of Joe Lieberman in blackface a few years ago.
Glenn Greenwald wrote a great piece on Lanny Davis a few months ago in case anyone needs a reminder of what a sleazebag Lanny Davis is--The Lanny Davis disease and America's health care debate:
Davis frequently injects himself into political disputes, masquerading as a "political analyst" and Democratic media pundit, yet is unmoored from any discernible political beliefs other than: "I agree with whoever pays me." It's genuinely difficult to recall any instance where he publicly defended someone who hadn't, at some point, hired and shuffled money to him. Yesterday, he published a new piece simultaneously in The Hill and Politico -- solemnly warning that extremists on the Far Left and Far Right are jointly destroying democracy with their conduct in the health care debate and urging "the vast center-left and center-right of this country to speak up and call them out equally" -- that vividly illustrates the limitless whoring behavior which shapes Washington generally and specifically drives virtually every word out of Lanny Davis' mouth.
As Glenn points out in his piece at Salon, given the treatment Davis usually receives when he comes on television, seeing Jane call him out for where his bread is buttered was truly a thing of beauty. It doesn't happen often enough.

He attacked her by claiming she attacked him. Never answered the question. Jane killed him. Who pays you Lanny? Atena, Novartis, Cigna? All the above?
is intended to be a factual statement
I watched this when it went down.
I was kinda in shock. She went straight for the jugular.
I think she knew she was going to be limited in response time.
So she just went for it. You could see the guys face turning colors.LOL.
But she did make a profound point. Bought and paid for.
Davis started shorting out. Hamsher just sat there, and let it unfold. Point Hamsher.
What is your conceptual, continuity?
I realize he is NOT in the government role today...but this is what happens when the poison of the corporate greed get into the veins of these shills. Then they spew their twisted lies for all the brain dead American public to swallow up as some sort of "truth" or something.
Jane did right. lanny is just a corporate shill, and he blew his credibility when he was appearing on fox propaganda network to defame and add bull shit credence to their deception.
Go to hell lanny. Take all your little corporate whore friends with you. It really is a time for revolution in this country. It's a sad time we live in...where the people no longer are represented by their own government.
These lobbiest are not to be trusted reguardless whether they are on the right or the left these people are just parasites!
We really need to clean washington out get rid of all these scum sucking bastards.
Lets get together and find ways to make these peoples lives as miserable as they have made ours.
What can we do? Have you got any idea what we can do to aggravate, agitate, annoy, hastle, how can we make their lives a living hell?
How can we make the current congress and senate hate their jobs so bad that they will just give them up?
Lawyers out there can we mount so many lawsuits that they cannot do anything else?
Can we set up squads of people to call their offices and go picket outside their offices?
Tell others about their voting records?
Any ideas?
Becoming Republican would be a lateral move for this asshole Davis.
Strip the substance of the argument away and the history of bad blood between the two. What you have is a demonstration that Jane Hamsher can out FOX the best that FOX has to offer in terms of interrupting any answer before it is finished by saying "you haven't answered."
When so called progressives applaud this they should not attack the technique when it is used by FOX.
