Liz Cheney Claims Her Father Would Not Substitute His Own Judgment for the Professional Judgment of the CIA

During the panel discussion on This Week, Liz Cheney contradicted the reporting in The Daily Beast and from Jane Mayer and claimed her father would not have substituted his judgment for that of the CIA. She attacks Lawrence Wilkerson personally as having "fantasies" about what the Vice President has done since he left office.
As Think Progress notes her statement is also directly contradicted by the reporting from PBS's Frontline special The Dark Side. Perhaps Ms. Cheney thinks the producers there were just having "fantasies" about her father as well.

Even though the official Drag Queen Name Generator of the 2012 Olympics gives his proper nom de hey-now as "Sofonda Cox", today when Dick Cheney strapped a funny blond wig to his head and went abroad among the living on “This Week” , he used the lady-with-man-junk name of "Liz".
Either way, he fooled no one.
I'd like to know why Liz Cheney thinks anyone should believe she's privy to any of the information she claims to have knowledge of other than receiving talking points from her father.

She's obviously not telling the truth -- I mean,the very first thing she says is that "nobody who's talking about this in the press has specific knowledge of detainee treatment." That's an absolute lie -- FBI agent Ali Soufan testified days earlier before Congress that he had first-hand specific knowledge of how the detainees were treated. She knows what she's saying isn't true, and yet she continues, and the Stephanopolis, et al. allow her to keep talking as if the more she says the truer it will become.

The CIA questioned the validity of many of the things Cheney has called "fact":
His "pretty well confirmed" Atta/Prauge myth was denied/debunked by the CIA, but that didn't stop him from repeating it.
The CIA said that there was no evidence of WMD's, but he insisted there were.
Joe Wilson, at the behest of the CIA, found no evidence of any purchase of Uranium from Niger, for which Cheney called Wilson a liar and outed his wife rather than change his story.

The CIA informed his office that a detainee was compliant and ready for interrogation and his office responded by telling them to continue waterboarding.

Having this mutt on his panel (out of nowhere) obviously trying to keep her asshole dad out of jail, was the ultimate sellout by that punk ass Stephanopoulos. But not for the smart and beautiful Katrina, I wouldn't have watch one second of that group.
Fact: Liz Cheney was not physically present when her father did and said what he did and said as Vice President concerning his advocacy for torture, his interactions with the CIA, and his promotion of false links, specifically a link between Iraq and Al Qaeda as well as the existence of WMD.
Therefore: Anything she has to say about these matters almost certainly came from her father and is second-hand information.
So why is anyone listening to Liz Cheney?
This is classic "Cheney." This is what Dick Cheney does. He constructs and builds momentum for a reality HE wants by he himself going out and repeating (not under oath) what he wants to be reality, and than reinforces it by having his surrogates go out and repeat over and over the same thing.
He did it in the build-up to the war in Iraq by leaking false evidence about Iraq nukes and then hitting the Sunday talk shows the next day and pointing to it as evidence; and his surrogates were Condoleezza Rice, and Colin Powell - mushroom clouds, smoking gun, the whole nine yards.

actually feels sorry for Liz Cheney. Its hard not to. How else is she LIKELY to turn out with a father and mother like hers? The odds were that she would turn out exactly as she has. Full of self-loathing, leading an unexamined life in bitter denial about her father whom she feels compelled to defend regardless of the truth about him and that's sad.
Yup. I feel sorry for her for about a nano-second. And then? It passes. Why? Because she is a grown woman who has had every advantage in life and every opportunity to learn accountability and heal the wounds of her parents. She has chosen not to.
