I was under the impression that the posters reflected Obama as the joker in the dark knight movie. so he was being technically cue by saying he has not seen those. he is a lying S.O.S. and he knows it, we all know it. if only katie would knoew it and call him on it.

...pay too much attention to this simpleton. I don't know what purpose this all serves. He gets attention from his base. Then he gets attention from those who are revolted by him, "Glenn Beck said X!" It just is a perpetuating cycle that distracts from real discourse.

i have heard something similar to this rebuttal before. and, yes, it is true. which shows the weakness in the democratic party leadership.

bush was spying on americans, torturing people, lying us into war, giving corporations more power over policy, etc. etc. (we all know the littany of bush crimes)

so, let's face it: bush--although no hitler--deserved the fascist-charges. and the PROBLEM was that there weren't any democratic leaders pointing this out.

People started calling Bush a liar, a nazi, etc, after he had, in fact, lied us into a war of aggression against a defenseless, devastated country; after he had suspended habeas corpus; after he had started torturing people; etc.

Until 2003, there were no angry crowds, and after sep 11 2001 he was very popular. The real outrage didn't start until several years into the war.

Obama is less than a year into his term and doing something he promised to do during the election. For some reason people are bringing guns to his rallies; and congressman are screaming "liar" from the floor of the house during presidential speeches.

There seems to be something different about Obama. This something causes some people to really hate him and to treat him with a disrespect no other president has ever suffered before.

Let's see if we can think of anything that is different about President Obama ...

The Bush=Hitler compared to Obama=Hitler has 3 very different aspects to them. Nobody that I know made the Bush=Hitler until he started the war and ripping up the bill of rights. Second, I never heard a Dem pol get in front of the crowds and say that. Third, I never saw a poster that was racist to the extent of Barack the Magic Negro.

I have a new name for his followers, dont know if it has been used before, lets just call them Beckerheads. It works on so many levels.

4 reasons Bush actually could be likened to Hitler:

1) Bush (like Hitler in pre WWII days) invaded two countries, the second of which generated international outrage and appeasement in the misplaced hope that no more invasions would follow;

2) Bush used a series of unprecedented Gestapo like prisons, outside US jurisdictions, in which people were sentenced without trial, tortured, and put to death (intentionally or not), while hiding what went on within those walls - sort of like Hitler;

3) Bush authorized military surveillance to track down the "Washington sniper" in 2005; happy or not that he was caught, the use of a domestic army at home for something like police work is the very definition of fascism -- and Hitler's use of the military at home is renowned;

4) Bush's use of propaganda, from "yellow and orange terrorism" alerts to paying people like Armstrong Williams (a democrat media columnist) bribes to promote domestic initiatives (like "No Child Left Behind") was unprecedented and, of course, another echo of something Hitler was known for (propaganda).

These are but 4 reasons a person could reasonably fear the rise of facism in America and/or liken Bush to Hitler without being completely off-base. However, current comparisons of Obama to Hitler seem odd since Hitler was not, in fact, known for his efforts to bring health care to the poor.

I suggest anyone confronted with this faux parallel between right-wing nuts who call Obama Hitler/Fascist and lefties who said the same about Bush, use the above talking points to shut down the comparison, pronto.

Our nation is divided. The Republicans are no better than the terrorists we fight in Aghanistan. They are cruel and nasty. They fight because their beliefs are what counts, so they feel. They are narrow minded, liars. The people that protested Bush, did not lie about him, make up stories, or place a mustache on Bush. Clearly, the Democrats Have class, something the Republicans lack with Hannity, Beck, Limbaugh,Rove,and Cheney. These people are liars and mean and nasty and they will hit below the belt, or hit you over the head with your back turned. They do not play fair.

I get SO sick of this -- and they all seem to do it (in the MSM): When interviewing a right-winger, they ask about some right-wing action, and, rather than answer, the RWer says, "Well, the DEMOCRATS do it, too!"
