Rachel Maddow explains what you have to do to be a member of “The Gingrich Caucus” and you’re a neo-con that never met a war you didn’t like but can’t seem to get your talking points straight on Libya since you hate anything a Democratic president does more.

Step 1—Demand U.S. military intervention in Libya.
Step 2—After President Obama intervenes in Libya, oppose military intervention.
Step 3—Hope no one remembers what you did in step 1.

So far, only consists of the three wives, but if he's running in '12, I'm sure he'll be looking for summer interns, girls!

(Contestants must be older than 12, but not so old as to have already been dumped by more than one 'Thug pol for this years model. Some restrictions apply. Not valid in Alaska, Hawaii, or US military bases in Muslim countries.)

out East would find an argument with those three points.

By far, the smartest person on TV.

Patriot Actor's picture

the best "Ta Da!" on TV as well....

So she's the smartest. Ta Da.

Imagine if Beck did a nifty Ta Da. How dumb would we all find that?

"Folks, this is not your father's Republican Party."

Agreed

Well, Hannity would agree with Gingrich if Newty was the prez.

The GOP ideology of anti-anything Obama is pretty obvious on all fronts.

to say that Newt is a D-bagger....????

With the exception of the loyal 28%, I don't believe americans would elect a bullshit artist like Gingrich for dog catcher.
He was elected Congressman and the GOP elevated him to Speaker by virtue of his BS artistry. The fact is that he would not have won anything outside of his safe district. He lacks loyalty.
He does not possess the strength to be an effective leader........he is a bullshit artist of the highest order.

I see a lot of great campaign commercial material for Obama and the Dems in 2012 - in the "I was for it, then Obama did it and now I'm again' it, all in the span of a week" genre.

...eliminating tax cuts for the wealthy before I was against them.
...ending the occupation of afghanistan before I increased troops levels there.
...ending spying on Americans before I continued it.
...was for health care reform before I sold out and gave America a republican't plan.
...need I go on?
Gingrich is a jackass, no question, but he's a recognizable jackass and he could be a one of a number of contenders on the republican't side. The republican'ts just have to decide if they want one of their own to be President or if they want the current President to continue their policies for another 4 years.

No. You have convinced me. Obama should have done everything he campaigned on in his first term as if there was no political opposition like Wilson in WI. And, he should not be allowed to change his views given the information available to him as an actual leader rather than a candidate. He has done no good. We would all have been better off with McCain and Palin. Certainly he is no better than the Teabirchpublicans. Thanks you for opening my eyes.

Patriot Actor's picture

McCain / Palin had won....the world would still be laughing....
at an America that would be crying...

"I was for it, then Obama did it and now I'm again' it.." is perfect. However, most of the Dems are too scared to use it, doncha know..........

There new slogan oughta be CHARACTER NO LONGER MATTERS.

by taging this as hypocrisy. As Jonathan Turley says:

"Barbara Boxer and Pelosi have shown how relative politics can be. With an intervention in a civil war by a Democrat, they are heralding the move as positively courageous. It is part of our personality driven politics. As with the Republicans under Bush, Democrats are discarding core values to support Obama — even in the face of an undeclared war. Liberals are now publicly referring to the oil in Libya as a vital national interest in explaining our lack of intervention in places like Syria. It is a Faustian bargain for liberals that will prove as disastrous for Democrats as it was for Republicans. We have a political system that is now entirely devoid of principle. The only thing remaining is blind allegiance to personalities. It is no longer the war that matters but the man who ordered it."

At least for BO, it is "I was against it before I was for it":
I was against FISA before I was for it.
I was against the unilateral executive before I was for it.
I was against prosecuting whistleblowers before I was for it.
I was against tax cuts for the rich before I was for it.
I was against guantanamo before I was for it.
I was against assasination of americans before I was for it.
I was against the president alone initiating war before I was for it.

Just to name a few...

Karyn's picture

the above points make my point....too 'scared' to THINK FOR HIMSELF....

that's why the 'I was for it until Obama did it' thing will not get too far........

What is Mason Verger doing in the United States senate?

for McConnell and Boehner to step down? It seemed like everyday someone was calling for Reid and Pelosi to go away. They were called spineless almost everyday and here we have jellyfish in leadership positions that do nothing any day..

Patriot Actor's picture

are like vampires..they do not see themselves in a mirror.
And ps...I said this here weeks ago...before Rachel Maddow did!!!!!

I don't think this is a laughing matter. These a-holes called for a military intervention then seek to undermine the president when that military intervention comes to fruition. People shrug their shoulders and say "oh well, that's politics." Wrong. It's not politics. It's treason.

was on top of the charts long ago and still believes he has what it takes to draw a crowd. While he's doing gigs at the county fair, and gambling casinos he still believes,,"it's only a set back."

SgtCedar's picture

I think it should be called the Flip-Flop Caucus. Gingrich is just the chief spokesman for the caucus. Gingrich has given Democrats one bug cudgel to use against him if he does run for President.

eltoca21's picture

I like you Rachel but Gingrich caucas is not catchy enough and does not explain what it means from the onset. And we know how Americans like catchy self explanatory words and phrases like ground zero mosque or birthers or tea baggers etc. I suggest flip floppers (not very original I know so further suggestions welcome) as this arguably lost Kerry the election and maybe will help do the same again for the republicans to loose.

ian m's picture

If memory serves, Kerry was pushing the idea of a surge in Iraq during the 2004 election which is more likely the cause of his defeat. Shades of Vietnam, a Democratic president inheriting a military engagement from a Republican administration and promising to escalate the effort. I think the pundits missed this but America's pundit class is a sorry, self serving, mindless lot.
