George Will is either lying, or he doesn't have any idea how to use the Internet. During the panel discussion on This Week, Will says this about the Baucus bill that came out of the Senate Finance Committee.

Stephanopoulos: And if he does is that the last hurdle? Or are we in for more twists here before the end?

Will: I think there could be more twists and there are going to be a lot of amendments put on the floor. And they're going to have to decide whether or not they're going to allow amendments and to what extent they're going to allow extensive debate.

Stephanopoulos: Nancy Pelosi suggested this week that there might not be any amendments on the House floor.

Will: Of course not for the same reason--although they could put this on the internet in 10 minutes, they haven’t put it on the internet, this 1502 pages, because people might discover what’s in there.

As our reader and tipster Stephen noted today, the bill has been on line since Oct. 19th. Anyone can go read all 1504 pages here and here. I guess it's asking too much of George Stephanopoulos to have pointed that out to George Will.

It's ruination to a big old lie.

And why would John McCain's BFF, Lil' Georgie S, wanna make his BFF's champion look bad?

Probably both, a result of being disconnected from the real world.

got the memo yet that BushCo went down in shame?

Or it may be just that his hairpiece is too tight, or those years of wearing that silly bow tie cut off circulation to his head.

Whenever I saw Will, and Tucker Carlson, in those silly bow ties I always thought those propellers should be on beanies on their heads instead of on their necks. Tin foil propeller beanies to be exact.

his matching suspenders have been so retentive, the wedgie around his nuts cut off his sex drive and he's ready for a Pug implosion.

I guess it's asking too much of George Stephanopoulos to have pointed that out to George Will.

Why, yes. Yes it is.
Asking Stephanopoulos to do anything resembling reporting or fact checking is asking too much.
How he got his job I'll never now, he is just a washed up political hack.

Enough with giving these beltway insiders jobs catapulting the propaganda, it is far past time for some real reporting to commence.

Wow. That would be great. and i bet the ratings would be OK too. These Grumpy Old Perverts are so tired and boring.

When has George EVER challenged a right-wing guest on ANYTHING they say, when he should know it is false?

.

Stephie probably doesn't know it's online himself.

That's because in order to turn on a computer he has to stand in a chair. I saw him on the street in Washington once and I thought, this guy looks like he should be welcoming Dorothy with lollypops instead of in DC.

lollipop guild were on strike and the Pinkerton's hired him to break it.

One little man, one more little lie.

Um, what does his height have to do with anything?

.

Nothing...
... But THAT comb over, geeesh, now THAT has a lot to do with everything.

.

...where's Rachel and her laptop when you need her? Someone opening up a computer and showing him the bill on line on the set would have been priceless.

. . . directly out of your ass, and reasonably expect that no one would be able to challenge you on it.

In fact, the only thing then that might have kept old-school Washington journalists from continually making stuff up was some sense of intellectual honesty.

However, that's a journalist's problem. Will isn't a journalist. He's yet another courtier who works for a media company. For him, intellectual honesty is a positive liability.

Anyway, he's old and lazy and can't wrap his adorable mind around the idea that times have changed and his drivel can actually be looked up--within minutes. And that younger (and better) newspeople will be so disrespectful to the Grand Old Man of the Washington Press Corps that they will check his facts.

Another way you can tell he's from the courtier class: It's one of the few communities in which you can be hailed as one of the current intellectual lights while in early-stage senility.

and his favorite representative is Michelle Bachmann (Retard-MN). Old Bill seems to think Michelle gets under the dems skin. He called her a "burr" in today's WaPo column. Billy, she's no "burr"! What's "burr" is that cold day in hell when anyone but a fellow wingnut takes her seriously!

Will's ignorance is showing under his tuxedo.

One wouldn't expect Will to bow to some lefty's "opinion" that the bill has been online for almost a week. Will's belief is that the bill is not online. Will rules on Sunday mornings, so therefore the bill is not online. Will's opinion always trumps fact, much the way that Bush's lonely belief that waterboarding is not torture allowed him to state unequivocally that "...our government does not torture."

I'm down with this...I am at this moment reading a document online that simply does not exist. That's pretty cool. I love the 'tubes.

Anybody think Will is going to read the bill? He bloody better if he plans on broadcasting an opinion about it or he's doing everyone a disservice.

.

or he's doing everyone a disservice.

And that would be new how, exactly?

Ya, not new, unfortunately. I just hope nobody ever confuses his wild ideas as informed discourse so i point it out where i can.

how can a guy like George Will take himself seriously if he doesn't keep himself informed? He must be using some kind of special wisdom that goes beyond mortal men to come up with this stuff.

Ya, Bachmann is a burr, in George Will's imagination. that's the problem.

is not what the top 1% is really doing at this point.

The bills are all on-line. The amendments will be on-line. The Congress of the United States has huge paid staff--paid for by the American people, they have the best technology, they have everything they need to pass legislation in this country. If you don't know what you are voting on--if you can't keep track of the amendemnts you are voting on--you have no business being there. Average American workers keep this country going with a lot less, and for a lot less money.
Do any of these reporters or commentators do their work? Overall, we have to have the laziest press in the world. They get their talking points from talk radio all week--and from the think tanks that pay them. No research, no details. Eight years, and they sucked up every lie the Cheney administration tossed out--they don't remember how to think.

ya, exactly!

lazy, stupid, self-involved, over paid, under-worked.

It amazes me how many time I hear journalists, news anchors, and commentators in MSM say something like "... maybe somebody out there knows bla-bla-bla. Call us and tell us."

or they will say to a guest talking head: "... we don't have all the FACTS, but what do you think should happen now?"

SPECULATE... SPECULATE... Dance To The Music!

You nailed it.

"I guess it's asking too much of George Stephanopoulos to have pointed that out to George Will."

In this case it is asking too much, because you can't predict every piece of stupidity that a winger could possibly say.

The pundit format can't work for news without the 50 strikes rule -- if a pundit is wrong 50 times, they're kicked out, at least for a while. Then when they come back they're known as that guy who was kicked out for being wrong.

Will is a fraud and a fake , the guy doesn't know his head from his ass end half the time , just watch when Krugman is around to correct him . He's a " high society " conservative moron is what he is .

.

.

George Will = Propagandist LIAR!

.

Most of us have realized for some time that they are outlets for propaganda. October 2002 made that pretty clear, but they have fallen so low that they are becoming America's version of Baghdad Bob.
Just completely full of shit.

Hard to believe George Staph Infection used to work for the "Big Dog".

"for" is.

I think there is nothing wrong with George Will that could not be cured by tying him to a chair and administering a dose of about 12,000 mikes of LSD.

"George Will is either lying"

Either? George Will is lying. That's what he does. He comes off as a nonthreatening nerd which is why so many people don't call him on it right away.
