As John already pointed out, our millionaire Villager class in the media is in love with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and his so-called "straight talk" about how we'd better get tough with the working class and have some "shared sacrifice" to balance state budgets. Those "shared sacrifices" of course always coming off of the backs of the working class instead of his rich campaign donors he's giving tax cuts to.

Ed Schultz talked to some New Jersey policemen and firefighters and asked them how they felt about their "tough guy" bully governor and they didn't have quite so many kind words for him as we've seen from the Villager fan-boy club that loves to pretend this guy actually has a chance to be elected president.

Our millionaire chattering class might be enamored with him, but he's nothing more than your average every day Republican that wants to look out for his rich campaign donors like the rest of them when it comes down to it. And I don't understand for one minute how him talking like someone from the cast of the Sopranos that they love to keep re-airing where he said he didn't vaporize yet for wanting to make sure poor people work until they're dead if they raise the retirement age is somehow a net positive for this bully.

I was glad to see Ed give some everyday working people from his state have a chance to let the public know what they think of him rather than watching millionaire pundits like those sitting around the table of Morning Joe on his same network. They all are continually talking about "shared sacrifice" as well as long as it means we're not asking any of them to have their taxes raised.

If we had more segments like this one airing every day, maybe the Villagers would be forced to fall out of love with Chris Christie. Thank you Ed for giving these workers a platform to air their grievances with him.

Wake up america, our rights, our freedoms, our liberty are being continuously and relentlessly attacked by what is becomig corporatacracy, going all the way back to ronald reagan. we are seeing what results of a corporate makeover/takeover of america. And anyone with two brain cells to rub together can see: corporate makeover of public education, corporate makeover of health care, corporate makeover of environmental protection, corporate makeover of unions, corporate makeover of wall street, corporate makeover of equal rights, corporate makeover of foreign policy, corporate makeover of the political system, corporate makeover of the courts and the list goes on. When will america wake up to the reality that we the people are being ruthlessly and relentlessly attacked, not by some foreign power but within, and by the greatest threat to democracy our country has ever experienced. 100 years of precedent protecting these freedoms is systematically being dismantled to be replaced by what, oligarchical share holders deciding first on profit and last on the worker. This is what is really meant by right to work state(s): the worker has no rights. This is what is really meant by corporatacracy: the people have no rights. Skyrocketing profits for the few (the rich) and what amounts to alms for the ignorant, undeducated, unrepresented, unprotected, no rights poor, the citizenry. If there is any single definition to what the wrong-wing is doing to this country and it's people it is this: no mercy! Is this what awaits us in the future, the corprorate takeover of america and the world as their playground. We are the most powerful nation in the world and if we lose democracy here at home, what then of the rest of the world? Will the oligarchs stop here, that is doubtless. They (the wrong-wing) are embarking on an experiment already tried by tyrants through out human history. Do they really have the arrogance to think that they will succeed where all others have failed? If we standby and let them have this power, then we will see what results of this selfish experiment and we, the people of this country, the greatest in human history will be to blame, because we let it happen!

I feel your pain and frustration mannkovsk1 , believe me , but I am afraid that your efforts are in vain ( as are mine ) , about half of this country's electorate are suffering from terminal stupidity and there is no reaching them . Besides the rocket scientist who make up the electorate in this country , add the fact that we have the wimpy inept center right President and Dem party as are only alternative and the only ones ( sort of ) standing in the way of these Republican fascist thugs , the future is looking pretty bleak ... in fact it's looking like we are SOL . Cheers !

You'll be to blame for letting them fail? Wouldn't that be a good thing?

...that's why we're here! You hit the nail on the head but there probably isn't one person on this site who hasn't made essentially the same argument. Time to take it to the streets but the sheeple think there are too many lazy people out there collecting unemployment insurance, welfare or social security even though all of those people are a heartbeat away from being one of the people they're railing against. Nobody wants balance between democracy and compassion. They listen to newt, rush, beck, ann, et.al. speak all this nonsense and think its patriotism. They spend their money on their products and think its magically going to make their lives better. It doesn't make their lives any worse so they don't care. Then one day, it happens to them and its God's will or somebody else's fault.

You posted the same rant over and over. At least paraphrase it a little.

Joe, Mika and Mike all love christie. Of course none of them would be hit by his cuts. None of them give a damn about medicaid, medicare or social security. They'll never need it and to hell with those who do. Snobs are like that.

Christie seems to me like the school yard bully who would begin to cry if anyone challenged him on anything. Yelling at people doesn't always work to frighten them enough to allow you to get your way.

If you want to have an early morning drinking game, and who doesn't, drink everytime Mika says she loves someone or something. She has said she "loves" some of the most unloveable people to appear on that show. She also loves things like whatever football team they are talking about and just about every city or town mentioned. Don't plan on going to work that morning because you'll never make it.

Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.

I have no idea why the MSM is infatuated with Christie. He's done absolutely nothing other than cancel a long planned tunnel project that would have brought thousands of jobs to his state, and act like a belligerent asshole.

The MSM gets infatuated with these GOP "rising stars" (as they dub them), and they always slash and burn (Sanford and Jindal are good examples).

The MSM is overhyping Christie like a Hollywood studio would overhype a mediocre film.

Enjoy Ed and Rachael for as long as you can. You can't talk trash about Repugnant media stars on main stream media without paying a consequence.

Democratic/Progressive legislaturers better wise up and start speaking up. Their silence is defening.

" Our millionaire chattering class might be enamored with him, but he's nothing more than your average every day Republican ......"

I'd say Chrissy is at least three times more than your average Repuke.

I did take note that the fireman who policeman who spoke in the video made sure to point out that all of the union members, police, firemen, teachers, etc. in NJ have been having their contributions to the Pension Fund deducted from their paychecks (he said 8.5% of his pay), ...... but since Christy (not to be confused with Chrissy) Whitman became Governor, the state of NJ has not been depositing the state's contributions to the pension fund for public employees.

So, now the employees are going to be penalized with lower pensions because the State government renegged on their obligation to supply the funds for over 20 years. Despicable!!!

mannkovsk1 nails it!

Spread the word everyone. Facebook, twitter, emails, phone calls, face-to-face, don't let the mainstream media get away with presenting this as Walker deficit hero. The struggling middle class workers must organize first in Wisconsin, then in the U.S., then in the world! As the Egyptian's guy's sign read: "one world, one pain."

...as they can't hire talented, educated people. It will become a state of Wal-Mart greeters and McDonald order takers. I'm not putting those low-paying job holders down; they are in fact essential to a robust economy but if that's the only job available in the state, why would someone with a desire to earn and move forward want to stay in New Jersey. christie and the tea-bag pols are going to screw themselves in the long run. The tea-baggr's are working contrary to their own best interests. They won't see it today or tomorrow but one day, it will become as obvious as the nose on their face.

So this fat bastard says that destroying his opposition is "doing the hard things"? Yeah, it's time that the bottom 95% all made less than ten bucks an hour. Oh, and the rich, well they're the producers so we'll of course extend yet another huge tax cut to them since we're gonna have all this extra money from firing tons of public employees. because Ed is now OWNED by the right wing COMCAST. He tries as hard as he can to rise above his wingnut bosses, but he is still on their payroll. Ed has been move to the graveyard timeslot, and he has also been totally removed from the Friday evening schedule. I'm certain that they are hoping his ratings will drop, so they will have an excuse to fire him too. Hopefully, he will also find a home with Keith Olbermann on Current TV. I'm also hoping that Keith will help build up the Current Network with other liberal stars from MSNBC, including Rachel and David Shuster. Current could become the leader in liberal media, if they do the right thing. Although I can't wait for Keith to start in May, he won't be enough to change that network from its low ratings nothingness. He needs to be certain that other good people are also hired. I'm counting on him to do just that.

Why doesn't this ginormous gas-bag give up his pension and benefits for the greater good? People need to wise up and stop electing these corporate whores. Stop flipping that Rep. switch when you vote and actually listen to what these schills are saying. These Republicans want to destroy the left by destroying their voting base..teachers, city workers, nurses etc., those with a union because they historically voted Democrat and unions were a powerful lobbying power. Now the corporations run both sides....NO WORKERS RIGHTS.
