Republicans in Congress have raised the specter of a bloated, "socialized," bureaucrat-run nightmare of a health care system as a means of undermining the White House's effort at a systematic overhaul. And yet, as Democratic sources are now pointing out, when medical crisis hit close to home, many of these same officials turned to a government-run hospital for their own intensive care and difficult surgeries.
So apparently in Mitch McConnell, John McCain, Kit Bond, Roy Blunt and George Voinovich's worlds, what's good for me is not good for thee. More compassionate conservatism at its finest.

The Right needs to be called out, by name, in strong, honest language, for the Atwater hatefest they've been engaged in. They should be called onto the carpet, not presented with cutesy puns.

I am about to agree with a republican congressperson.
I think we ought to have an investigation of some in the house and senate to see if they are unamerican beginning with Michelle Bachman, who suggested it in the first place. They are the party of no and consistantly vote against the American public. Next would be Hoekstra, Grassley, McConnell, Boehner and I could go on. The final straw is when they encourage parents to keep children away from school to censor a speech by the President of the United States, Barak Obama. In my opinion, they are unamerican and their actions are unamerrican. They have stood up in front of us Americans and have flat out lied to us about a number of things, death panels and such. They need to be held accountable.
And the 'death panel' lies were actually pretty mild compared to the lies and propaganda they used to illegally take the nations armed forces into war. These scum are so completely unAmerican it's really hard for me to believe they were actually raised and educated in this country.
Now you know why Mitch McConnell's face looks like it's melting.

i say if the GOP hates govt involvement in health care they should:
1- reject their health policies and buy their own private insurance
2- make killing medicare a part of the GOP's national platform
3- tell all the veterans that they are working aggressively to shut down the VA health system

every province is different. as you are mentioning here people in canada will not give up their health care program. some provinces have less money/specialists. there's a lot of terrain to cover. the problem i have with people bringing up canada is: who said the system that's being proposed is going to be like canada? when i ask people that I get Crickets. it's NONsense and some know that.

If you destroy health insurance reform to protect your real constituents, the suits of Anthem, United Health, Humana, etc, an executive order will be issued denying you the use of government run health care facilities.
McCain and other former military can use the VA hospitals, but no suites at Bethesda.
