The reality is that it is the policies that Cheney has fought so hard for over the years that have made America less safe. His scare tactics are nothing more than an attempt to salvage his own conscience.
Former Vice President Dick Cheney was a national disgrace and an embarrassment to himself while in office, but he's not quite done engaging in some of the cheapest, most offensive, least honest demagoguery imaginable.
Previous national leaders, once they leave office, usually maintain some sense of decorum, refraining from attacking their successors. Cheney waited just two weeks before accusing the Obama administration of coddling terrorists and putting American lives at risk. Classy.

Dick's comment makes me recall the August 2007 missing nuke scandal where nuclear armed missiles were flown from Minot AFB to Barksdale AFB and several were lost along the way.

The import of this incident is rather that it either shows how lax our AF security has gotten, or that it was a dry run, or that their being relocated was the disruption of an actual attempt to steal at least a couple of them.

Under certain terms of the Patriot Act, Cheney could probably be arrested today for his seeming knowledge of an impending attack. He should be held without benefit of counsel, and all of his personal papers confiscated, and his property searched without warrant.
I think the entire government would like to know what he knows, and how he knows it, and whether or not he has shared it with the new administration.

Dick, when you were asked, while watching the plane fly straight to the Pentagon for 15 minutes, after being attacked at the twin towers, "Do the orders still stand?". You answered that they do.
