I watched about 90 secs of it. Then I checked out Kos and found out the senate finance committee has dropped the end of life consultations part of the bill. I guess Sarah's talk of death panels made her point. Jesus! I sure do need that 6:30 cocktail at 5:30.

I THINK I got over this whole color thing about the time I entered second grade and when a man sits in front of a camera and tells the absolute truth and makes me laugh while he's doing it... well, there's a reason why he's become one of my favorites.
I figure America will be like S. Africa, in a few decades. A white minority that controls everything.

I grew up white in central Illinois in the '50s and there's no way I'd want to go back to that kind of world, except for certain small aspects of it. It was full of horrible prejudice against minorities and even for a respectable white girl in a 99% white school system, the authority and peer pressures were overwhelming.
Skirt length, hairstyles, shoes, political views and affiliations, having more knowledge than others, having even the faintest of independent ideas, even having a (gasp!) working mother, excessive reading, "believing in" evolution ... all were heavily, intensely regulated and enforced by teachers, ministers, parents, and other kids. And I had a "good" childhood!
I can't even really imagine what it must have been like for the few Mexican-Americans or Italian-Americans in our school. Yes, "my" America is changing, and most of the changes are long overdue.
We still have a lot to do, especially in the areas of education, availability of birth control and sex education, preventing excessive birth rates and the resulting pollution and resource shortages ... but I welcome the upward mobility of those who have been discriminated against for so long.
I invite all the non-white hotties to come dance with me.

White guys have done such a bang-up job on our country over the years, haven't they? Time for the women, of all colors, to take the wheel and see if we can get this baby back on the right track. We've learned from the mistakes we have seen made by those who came before us so we are fired up and ready to go.

THIS is what they were all afraid of in November, why they tried to tar Obama as an angry black man bent on destroying America.
THIS is why they rant and rave at their politicians, too afraid to say what they really mean.
The "coloreds" are rising up and are finally empowered to force change in this country! CHANGE we can believe in!
"THIS IS NOT MY AMERICA!" they scream, foaming at the mouth, spittle flying into the face of the camera.
"OBAMA IS A NAZI! OBAMA IS TURNING AMERICA INTO A SOCIALIST STATE!" they scream, not realizing the logical disconnect that they are expressing.
"DEATH TO OBAMA" they yell, claiming it's within their First Amendment rights to intimidate and bully the opposition with threats of violence.
Who are "they"? Nothing simpler than white, wealthy, mostly male Americans who are SHOCKED and APPALLED that the rest of the world has moved beyond their limited 1950's thinking.
"They" claim to be Christians, who only pick and choose teachings that suit their racist agenda.
"They" claim to be Americans, while they work tirelessly against everything America stands for.
"They" are Republicans who have destroyed the party of Lincoln.
They tried to stop Roe vs. Wade
They tried to stop Martin Luther King
They stood against every piece of legislation that was designed to make life better for the rest of us.
They are worthless, lowlife ignoramuses who can barely grunt the national anthem while they cheer the killing of millions of brown people around the world.
THEY are the true fascists, the true brownshirts among us! Armed and dangerous, they even show up to Presidential Town Hall meetings with loaded firearms! They shout, they jeer, they bully, they intimidate. It's all they know.
How do we stop them? That is the question. We must not resort to violence since to do so would be to lower ourselves to their level. Fear is the only emotion that they understand, which is why the Limbaughs and the Becks and the Hannity's are so successful.
We are getting closer and closer to open armed revolt in this country, and if this happens, we ALL LOSE!
We must take the path of the Gandhi's, the Martin Luther Kings, and the Nelson Mandela's of the world. We must take the high road with these people.
We are in a VERY precarious position nowadays.

Funny as this sort of is, I've watched the Daily Show since it first premiered, and only RECENTLY have there been any people of color on that show, at least working on-camera. And often I see those anchors trotted out to report on "minority issues", which is just what other networks seem to like doing as well, so as much as I love this show it can't really be high and mighty, and thumb its nose at discriminatory and racist white America.

Why would a person who was born before the civil rights movement want that America return to what it was? I'm sorry Beck, I don't America to go back to a time when lynching was common and the assassination of MLK and Kennedy happened. I don't want to go back to the time when buses were segregated and children could not drink from a water fountain with a sign saying "whites only".

According to the last full census data from 2007, 80% of the US population called itself White, while 12.8% said they were Black and 15% said Hispanic. Do the math, folks. How does that shift in the next couple of decades? White people moving to Liberia or not having any more kids? I see a lot of white people with 3+ kids lately. This is funny stuff, but it is COMEDY!!!
