Jon takes apart Dick Cheney's double talk during his recent interview with John King.

Stewart: Hmmmm. I get it. Bad things rubber, good things glue. So if your explanation of how you kept us safe was competent execution, what's your explanation for what happened with everything else?

.....

Stuff happens! No, no, no, no ah....I left a Chapstick in my pants and it went through the wash. That's stuff happens!! I accidentally said s%#t when I meant stuff. That's stuff happens. Two wars, a mismanaged economy and a botched national disaster rescue effort...can a brother get a "my bad"?

Stewart goes on to recommend some titles for Cheney's memoir. He missed the obvious one which was the title of this segment...lol.

Jon Stewart (and Steven Colbert) are genius.....they can make me laugh even though the world appears to be going to hell in a handbasket....

Every time I see or hear Darth the Dick, I wonder 'when will his batteries fail??!!!'

I still wonder why they never get a tough question when they go on a Sunday show.

pissed off patricia's picture

It's because they won't go on a Sunday show where tough questions might be asked of them. Besides, which Sunday show would that be? The Sunday shows have gone to hell.

Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.

liberalNmoderation's picture

Name one Sunday show that's worth a damn...

pissed off patricia's picture

There are none. Meet the Press used to be fairly good but Gregory has made it a freaking republican love fest and an ego enhancer for himself.

Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.

liberalNmoderation's picture

It wasn't exactly unbiased.

I know, but there were some times when Russert would toss us a kibble or two.

Point out the almost 5000 Americans killed since 9/11 due to Bush/Cheney policies

TDS and Jon Stewart are brilliant, down to the name of the segment. Cheney-Bush have indeed sucked the lifeblood out of the economy, out of the Gulf Coast, out of Iraq and out of the national discourse and attitude.
And speaking of sucking, didn't John King as interviewer? What an awful, suck-up job he did.

Vampires are sexy and cool. Look at Cheney. I mean, look at him! Ug! He's more like a leech, a big fat disgusting leech. Or maybe a lamprey ell. Ug.

I always take major offense when someone compares these GOP creeps to my beloved creatures of the night!

Even if Guiliani does look as tho he could be Count Orlock's emotionally disturbed little brother!

Actually vampires of European myth weren't cape swilling nobility and gigolos, nor gown enclad temptresses.

They were your Uncle Boris, or Granny Ilona grimy with the grave trying to join you in bed and do god knows what that would kill you.

The most vampirish movie I've seen along those lines was Night of the Living Dead.

Diabolus est Deus Inversus

Annaleigh's picture

In that case, Anais is probably right! :P

Have you seen Vampyr: Der Traum des Allan Grey? That flick comes pretty close to that ideal too!

I wish stewart would keep calling out the media goons who give softball interviews without facts or follow up questions and let unsourced drivel from "hig hranking" poo heads go unchallenged.

This is the information age, there is no reason, why John king could not go into the archives and get enough tape to wrap cheney up in his own foney words...

pissed off patricia's picture

Cheney just doesn't care and he appears to be proud of that. I don't know what happened in his childhood but it must have been really bad to make him such a mean heartless SOB.

Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.

...a big mac, fries and sipped on a shake I brought him, giggling about what he did.

Cheney is no different, a common criminal.

pissed off patricia's picture

I think I am correct in saying that today marks six years since Cheney and pals decided to invade Iraq. The day of Shock and Awe, as I watched those bombs drop, I was crying so damned hard and screaming at my tv. I thought I was losing my mind. Oh, what a horrible day.

Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.

liberalNmoderation's picture

Except for the tears, I was in pretty much the same state of mind...
The leadership of this country has gone insane, that's what was going through my mind.

pissed off patricia's picture

I was thinking about the innocent people who we were killing over there and the shame I felt was eating me alive.

Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.

I have felt that shame too...

I had to reset my computer and now I can't see the videos. Firefox is telling me to install a plug in, but I did and I still can't see them. I didn't have this problem before I reset my computer. I can't go without my C & L, can anyone give me some advice.

Again sorry sitemonitor.

[I would go here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f... and ask. We can't advise on computer settings, since we aren't trained for that-Sitemonitor]

pissed off patricia's picture

I wish I could help you but I haven't been able to view anything but Youtube here for a long time. I'm running mozilla.

[Mozilla has a page that might be helpful http://kb.mozillazine.org/Flash#Flash_player_... I have Firefox and I don't have the problems you two are having, so it's the way you've got your browser settings-Sitemonitor]

I

was just watching videos on here this morning with Firefox, but since my computer was messed up, I had to reset it. Now I can't watch any of the videos. Thanks anyways pop

I got it. Panic finally over, I can return to watching C & L videos as before and my world is as it should be. I can breathe again. Sorry sitemonitor, the thought of not being able to see the videos on here sent me into a panic attack.

pissedoffpat... I just forgot that I hadn't set up Windows media player since the reset. Thank you though, love your comments on here by the way.

And that’s extra scary to me, because there’s a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside doing interviews.

Cheney your journey down the dark side is complete, now pay the consequences for your lack of vision. It is time for you to rot for eternity. The forces of good will always prevail.
