There's no doubt in my mind that Gitmo has done far more to advance terrorism than stop it. The fact that we haven't had an attack on our soil doesn't mean jack. How many years passed between the first bombing of the WTT and 9/11?? And why bother plotting an attack on American soil when America is doing such a fine job of hurting itself and they can kill Americans in Iraq? George Bush and his GOP were the best gift we could give to the terrorists. They will bide their time as long as it takes. If you were a young innocent (non-terrorist) Muslim held at Gitmo for 6-7 years without charge and tortured, what do you suppose you'd want to do to your captures once you were free? I can promise you that if it were me or someone in my family, I would not be forgiving. I'd want revenge in a big way.
What better way to keep that state of perpetual war going than to first create the enemies so you will then have someone to fight, thus keeping the war going. It's just good business.. (/sarc)

What about the guy who was incarcerated when he was fifteen. They have let him out, he is now twenty one. If he didn't hate America then, he sure in the Hell does now. If he wasn't a terrorist then, probably the first thing he did upon arriving home was to find an Al Qaeda training camp so he could become a terrorist. Bush was THE BEST recruiter Al Qaeda could have hoped for.
I watched the welcoming ceremony at the State Dept. for Hillary. The guy who was the spokesman with obvious relief and joy said "We are so THRILLED to have you here!". Guess they had enough of the CondaLizard.

Keith, and now Rachel Maddow, are the ONLY ONES out there who are THINKING and reporting at the same time.
"Are We Creating Terrorists?" The answer to that question is as self-evident as asking if the United States is an imperial power. Barack Obama, the former [alleged] anti-war candidate, is not helping matters any when he orders missiles to be fired into Pakistan which end up killing innocent civilians in his search for the ubiquitous terrorists. Likewise, wanting to keep U.S. forces in Iraq as well as sending even more American soldiers to fight the bogus GWOT in Afghanistan will only add more gasoline to the fire by creating more enmity toward the United States and adding more terrorists around the world.
What rarely if ever gets addressed in the United States is the question of WHY there are terrorists. As long as leaders like Barack Obama continue to stupidly insist upon keeping American soldiers in the Middle East as well as continually pledging aid to Israel then the presence of terrorism will continue to manifest itself in order to counter American imperialism throughout the globe.

Looks like NYT is happy to let it dribble out incident by incident instead of telling the whole story. This must be for the crescendo effect. Seems the Washington Post used a similar strategy during Watergate before they actually went in for the kill.

Well the obvious answer is these 62 must be the ones we didn't torture. We all know the continued use of gitmo, torture and praying the terrorism out of these men would completely eliminate terrorism.
Just a few questions. Why are is anyone automatically accepting this story as true? Who are the sources for this story? And if it is true and intelligence groups know this, why haven't they gone after this person?
