Keith followed up on the story of the Tennessee house fire where firefighters watched as the home of Gene Cranick burned to the ground. The family has been reluctant to take donations but apparently has decided to now. Here's the information for anyone that would like to help the family out.

Gene or Mildred Paulette Cranick
Special Account
C/O Heritage Bank
PO Box 1410
Fulton, KY 14041

Keith talked to Gene's son Todd about the reaction of those like Glenn Beck who basically said the family got what they deserved for not paying the fee. Keith and Mr. Cranick talked about what the solution is to make sure this never happens again and they both got it wrong. Taxes should go to pay for these services plain and simple. Fire protection should never be something that's allowed to be either privatized or optional.

Keith also asked Todd Cranick about the decision to accept the donations and the fact that their insurance is going to pick up the bulk of the costs. He said he told his father that if they receive more money than they need to recover their losses, he should donate that money to another cause such as the Red Cross or other organizations and not feel bad about accepting the help. I would imagine those words played a large part in his decision to finally decide to set up the fund. I'm glad Keith followed up on this since there were so many people wanting to help the family out.

It's too bad stories like this aren't resonating more largely with our communities and our politicians about why our health care system should not be privatized either.

I saw this last night, and for the first time, I saw beck's reaction. It royally pissed me off, so I sent beck the following email:

"beck,

Tonight I had the extreme misfortune of seeing your response to Mr. Cranick, the gentleman whose house burned to the ground while fire fighters watched it burn.

You, sir, are a very sickening person. This is one of the most disgusting things I have ever heard you say. You are sick in the head; your are twisted.

I really hate to say this, but you are an evil, cruel, cold-hearted bastard.

Like limbaugh, you make a living out of saying outrageous, evil, hateful and cruel things. Like limbaugh, I'm sure you believe most of the things you say.

I can cite many evil and disgusting things limbaugh has said, but one that defines him in my mind is the time several years ago when he made absolutely disgusting comments about Michael J. Fox and his Parkinson's disease. When I think of how evil limbaugh is, that's one of the very first things that comes to mind.

Likewise, I can think of many evil and disgusting things you have said, but this one takes the cake. It is already a defining moment for me as to the type of inhumane monster you are. Whenever I hear the odious words "glenn beck," I will think of Mr. Cranick whose house was allowed to burn down, an act glenn beck agreed with.

You proclaim yourself to be some great messiah, telling people to turn to god. You pretend to be a religious man, but your religiosity is more fake than the fake tears you produce with Vicks Vapor Rub. Your religion, your god is that of Benjamin Franklin, your bank account. People like you and limbaugh make tens of millions of dollars, yet you disdain the sick, the poor, the less fortunate, the destitute.

You probably think that if there were a person in that burning house, the firefighters still should have let it burn to the ground.

You probably think that all social services should be cut.....police, fire, paramedics, ambulances, emergency rooms. And, why not? People like you can afford to have your own private security and police force, fire department, etc.

You know, our military men and women do not stop fighting to protect us because they say, hey, I don't make $100,000 a year, so why should I fight for my fellow soldier, why should I fight to protect my country?; policemen and firemen are the same (except for these firemen in Obion County); doctors take an oath to do no harm, and they treat people in the emergency room even if they have no insurance.

Every single person in this country, man, woman, and child, should be afforded the protection of a fire and police department, ambulances, doctors and nurses.

Your thoughts, along with the thoughts of other far right conservative nut jobs like Jonah Goldberg, prove again how evil, cruel, and mean you conservatives really are. This isn't "compassionate conservatism," as I believe Goldberg said of this case; it is selfishness and greed; it is hatred of the less fortunate than you miserable wretches.

I don't know if there is a heaven or a hell, but if there is, your soul will certainly not go to the former, that is, if you even have a soul.

I probably won't be able to sleep tonight; this is so infuriating to know that a fellow human being (well, if you are human) thinks this way."

Beck isn't going to care. Why should he? He makes 32 million dollars a year. Beck doesn't have to care. All he needs to do is open his piehole and he gets paid. It's one of the many reasons I despise the man.

I know beck doesn't care....which, like you, is the reason I despise the jerk.

However, I do care, and it really pisses me off. It helps me to get my anger out if I send emails to these jackasses.
