From The Colbert Report Oct. 22, 2008

I for one appreciate the McCain campaign treating us like children. McCain will bring us back to a simpler time. A time when you could identify your neighbors' jobs by the hats they wore. Like Sam the Fireman, Bill the Cowboy and Jose the stereotype. These are the people in your neighborhood. The people that you meet when you're walking down the street. They're the people that you meet each day. And what the people in your neighborhood, the Joe the Plumber, the Wendy the Waitress need are tax cuts for the wealthy and off shore drilling. They don't need universal health care or last names.

I'd never link to Colbert, et al.

All comers would be welcome. Dennis. Marge. All of 'em.

Commies, Nazis, anarchists, evangels. All of 'em.

I believe in the free market of ideas.

But I'm too lazy and drunk.

So I come here.

"...Sam the Fireman, Bill the Cowboy and Jose the stereotype..."

Or how about "Sarah the Pope of the New Holy Empire." So far, an invisible hat, lolcat style. But hopefully not for long.

It's about damned time. The New York Times has finally found the nads to start taking a look at Palin's religulous affiliations: YouTube Videos Draw Attention to Palin’s Faith.

Or as Fred Clarkson of the quoted Talk2Action puts it, Discussion of Palin's Beliefs [finally] Goes Mainstream.

At the risk of appearing spammy, here again is an earlier roundup of Talk To Action posts on Palin's chosen people: Links to Information and Documentaries on Palin's Churches

Seriously. Creepy. Sh*t.

"John the Liar" is the most appropriate label of the campaign year.
Can't wait until he's back in Arizona writing his memoirs slamming Failin' Palin, his campaign and anyone else involved with the "not my fault, I was a POW" excuse for the massive, HUGE failure

I'd say "John the Puppet" at this point. From what I can see, his whole dog-and-pony show has pretty much been taken over by the "movement conservatives." If elected, I seriously doubt those freaks would allow him to survive through his term.

I for one will going to miss the run-up to this election. While it has a serious undertone, the future of the US of A and indeed the rest of the world, it sure was entertaining to see everything unfold. Seeing Jon and Stephen hitting the nail everytime a Republican opens his/her mouth and putting everything in perspective. And see those same folks making gaffe after gaffe.

All in all it was a very entertaining year. And after the elections are done I hope things will be back to normal. But somehow I have the strangest feeling this funny period will not end there. Republicans have a reputation to uphold. They are the true masters of digging their own grave.

You gotta love that Straight Talk Express!

Hey, it's Caturday!

lol cats, more fun than a barrel of politicians!

Joe the plumber is being overplayed as was the POW card. But if you've got nothing else. go juvenile? At least the base can understand.

Sigend: Ted the teacher (really)

All I hear is that song in my head......who are the people in your neighbourhood, in your neighbourhood, in your neighbourhood...ya..who are the people in your neighbourhood..they're the people that you meet, when you're walking down the street, they're the people that you meet, each day......

What John the Sellout and Sarah the Dumbshit need to realize is that Barack the Statesman is going to kick their asses on November 5th because the American people are tired of being talked to as if they are Dick and Jane Idiot.

Brilliant segue to Cedric the Entertainer. He he. The only THE who really matters.

How could Colbert, a true comic geek, forget the greatest "THE" of all, Howard The Duck? In the immortal words from his greatest presidential campaign speech circa 1976, "Why a duck? Why not a duck? You've had turkeys running this country for 200 years."

I like getting treated like a child. As such, that makes you a stranger, so I can't vote for you.
